The staff was amazing—they focused on our happiness and comfort. We married May 10, 2024 and came back to a towel display on the bed that looked like swans in love. Very sweet!

History and Sandy Algarve Beaches
With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.
King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.
Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. Resorts and hotels on Lagos’ beaches are the perfect choice for sun lovers, while the hotels near the modern Lagos Marina are popular, as they are both close to the centre and the railway station.
The city is 90 km from Faro Airport, and 24 km from Portimão. Check out the Lagos hotels deals on Booking.com before travelling!

Lovely marina area with plenty of restaurants, the Lighthouse bar on the marina is good for food and reasonable prices. Old town has a large and varied choice of bars and restaurants. Good supermarkets. Easy to get around Ubers are cheaper than taxis. Seems to be a rise in the number of beggars mainly in the old town. Plenty of sea excursions available such as fishing, dolphin spotting and visiting caves.

Lagos is a lot less touristy than some other surrounding towns. There's plenty of bars and restaurants in the old town and the marina.
Lots of beaches to choose from. On one side you have the longest beach with holden sands. And on the other, lots of small beaches in between the cliffs. Some can only be reached by boat or kayak.
Top of the cliffs offer spectacular walks along the wooden paths offering breathtaking views.

Beautiful beaches and grottos.
Beautiful beaches and grottos. Great restaurants, fish market, and boardwalks for walking and biking. It would have been easier to explore neighboring towns with a car. We felt limited without one. The people are so kind and considerate and laid-back. The weather in April was beautiful but too cold for swimming.
We spent a week in Lisbon, Tavira, and Lagos. Lagos was our favorite.

A friendly, small city that is welcoming for visitors. There is a great selection of restaurants and shops lining historic laneways and cobble stoned streets. Don't miss the grottos from the cliffs above from the sea by boat. They are spectacular.
"Please, Baby…for Lagos i want a 5-Star Hotel with good Service„ That‘s what I told my Wife x-times bevor we start our Round-Trip through Portugal. She ignored me and said that wie have to support the People there. That was the best decision. The Hosts Sonia and Jose were like a private Concierge and extremly helpful and very, very friendly. This little House have really everything you need plus a very comfortable Bed, fantastic Shower and a nice kitchen. Book this and you won’t regret it. And, of course, listen to your Wife!
Everything!!
Small 5 room hotel. The hosts are amazing and cook fresh breakfasts every morning using local fresh ingredients. Great location only 7 minutes drive from the center. Very private and quiet. And no children to spoil your afternoon pool time. Free parking. Very communicative hosts. We were provided a welcome snack and glass of sparkling wine upon our arrival.
We will definitely stay here again if we return to Lagos area. Thank you Renato and Rosana for a wonderful visit.
This is one of the best places we have stayed. Very welcoming owners of a family run hotel with an excellent location with views of the marina and the river from the terrace. It is a small hotel that has been tastefully decorated to a very high standard. The breakfast is excellent as is the location in easy reach of bus or train. We cannot praise the owners enough for running a hotel meant for people who do not need a TV in their room and appreciate peace and quiet.
Location was great and like max 10 minute walk to old town Lagos and also to the Marina. There is a Mini supermarket around the corner too as well as Mini Golf which is ideal as a fun family activity. The Hotel also has Free Parking across the road which is very convenient. The Hotel has 2 great pools in which one is kids friendly & excellent GYM facilities as well as Game room which again is ideal for Families with kids.
Its a resort type of hotel in the middle of the city, which is amazing. Among many hotels who don’t accept dogs, The Tivoli Lagos accepts, and i do appreciate it. I think a hotel can always accept little dogs if it is prepared for that. Ive brought my little yorkshire and was so happy to see a big bed for him that the hotel provided. We’ve had such a great time. The breakfast is also great. I’ll definitely recommend.
Amazing hotel. The location is fantastic and the room was lovely. We got an awesome private balcony facing the sea which I simply loved. The staff were also super helpful and kind. They showed us the best places to see and recommend places to eat. The staff really made our experience that much better! Would highly recommend this hotel and definitely planning to come back here when visiting Lagos.
My partner and I had a very pleasant stay at our hotel/apartment. The receptionist was very kind and mindful of your needs. The room was perfect for 2 and the kitchen had the required tools to cook basic meals. It is located in a calm area close to the city center of Lagos.
I really recommend this hotel/appartements as it has a very good price/quality ratio !
This small boutique hotel is fabulous, the staff so helpful and welcoming, we came from vale do lobo, a supposed 5 star resort to this little sanctuary which was far better! Daily housekeeping, fabulous breakfast, immaculate with great service, great location, 5 min walk to beach and 5 euro in a taxi to Lagos centre. Highly recommended and we will be back.
Hotel reataurant had amazing views (similar to view from our room) and turned out to be one of the best rstaurants in Lagos. Restaurant staff were fun and efficient. 3 minute walk to Praia Dona Ana, trail head to cliff walk to lighthouse was right outnour door, views were incredible. Walk to town (15-20 minutes) had amazing views as well.
Location was beautiful right on beach without a lot of traffic. Restaurant looked out on ocean and food was very good - not typical hotel food. Pool bar great and some of the best tasting French fries with choice of dips we’ve had in years. Potatoes were so soft and flavorful. Rooftop terrace was huge and just beautiful.
Immaculately clean hotel. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a wonderful balcony overlooking the marina. Lovely spacious bathroom too and heated pool up on the roof. Breakfast was delicious with the best cappuccinos I have ever had! Would definitely come back to this hotel. Staff were so friendly too.
As advertised, this site provides exceptional facilities, a unique hotel layout to include an out door garden. You'll love the dining in, the food and customer service at Tivoli Lagos is TOP TIER! So good, I extended my stay! I would rate my experience a 9.6 out of 10.

This is an absolutely stunning hotel in the heart of Lagos. Only 5 mins walk to cafes and shops and 10 mins to the marina. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. I wanted to move in! The breakfast is fabulous and we were well looked after by Flavia.
We had a good stay at Dom Pedro in Lagos. Beds are comfy. The rooms are big compared to modern hotels.
The city centre can be reached on foot in about 20 mins. The marina is about 15mins walking from the hotel.
Everything! This was an exceptional hotel. The lobby was beautiful, the room was spotless and spacious, the rooftop pool views were breathtaking, and the Michelin restaurant was beyond the best!!!
The Salty Lodge is a wonderful place to stay in Lagos. The hotel is clean and quiet but still right in the heart of the old city where you can walk to the beach and fabulous shops and restaurants.
