Carla is a most welcoming Dutch lady. When she enquired when I would arrive and I mentioned that I was travelling by bike, she told me that she would put a beer for me in the fridge. This promise gave me strength to keep pedalling all day long! In person she was even more charming. Her house is at the top of a small hill with nearby modern construction. From there you can walk in ~ 20 min either to the beach or to the town centre. I did the first and had dinner at a small, nice beach restaurant that she recommended. It is a beautiful beach with little construction and you can walk on the sand as long as you want. The house is nicely decorated and I got an upgrade to a room with sea view. You can use the kitchen. I even sit at the terrace to enjoy my beer. She takes great care that everything is very clean.

We stayed only one night but it was very nice. The owners are very friendly, they wrote us before and made sure everything is fine with our arrival. The whole place feels very friendly and quiet. Breakfast was good, they asked us even before what do we prefer and about dietary restrictions. Pool was nice and clean, good for reading a book and quick dip after long day. And they have "honesty bar" where you basically take drinks from a fridge and pay at the end based on how many you drank. We did not have any, but I like this approach, because it shows the level of trust from both sides.

Susana is the greatest host. She welcomed me and made me felt right at home, given me a tour of the property. I struggled a bit to find the place in this little village as my google maps didn’t take me to the right place. However this hotel is well preserved and hidden away so it’s very nice and quiet. I had the single duplex room which was very pleasant. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to use the facilities as it was a short stop between Sintra and Obidos.
