Hotel Dom Henrique - Downtown, hotel in Porto

Located in Porto's city centre, this recently renovated hotel offers a bar with panoramic views and 17º Restaurant & Bar serving traditional Portuguese cuisine.

It seemed renovated and the lobby was really nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a lot of variety. The room I stayed had a balcony and the bed was comfortable. It was walking distance from the center, 15 minute walk to the cathedral and there was a metro station 6 min walking where you can take the metro to the airport. The sao bento market was 2 blocks away and I ate in a really good restaurante 2 min walking (Vaccarum). Would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Hotel Peninsular- Porto, hotel in Porto

Hotel Peninsular- Porto occupies a prime location in the UNESCO heritage site of Porto old town, just 200 metres from Sao Bento railway station.

The hotel is an Art Deco gem, with public areas and furnishings apparently untouched since that era. Excellent location in the heart of the old city. Beds ok. Our room was very quiet, because it was at the back. Decent breakfast.

Excellent room, quite spacious with good lighting, there were everything you need. You can see the ocean from the window. Only it is impossible to tune a TV without knowing Portuguese. Somewhat away from the center, but there is a very accessible taxi in Porto. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Good breakfasts. Some inconvenience is that the hotel restaurant is closed most of the time.

Porto itself is a wonderful city.

Porto itself is a wonderful city. We were dismayed to find the hotel closed and boarded up. However, another hotel was available and this was very good. We would have struggled without the help of our very friendly taxi driver. Porto is very steep and has many steps, which would not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues. There are tuk-tuks available for tours, also plenty of buses and a couple of tram routes. We enjoyed visiting many sites of interest, including buildings and gardens. We took a trip on the river - a coach took us one way, and we sailed back. This was a full day trip which was wonderful. There are many, many places to eat.

Porto is centred around Port wine (obviously) and a trip round one of the Port Houses is essential (we visited Taylors). There are many Restaurants in Porto and it is best to find the Portuguese ones to get an authentic taste of Portugal.

Rich in culture and bustling activities taking place near the river. However, the biggest downside is the ease of topping up the transport card. Even though the metro and bus systems are well developed and integrated, and easy to use, it is not as straightforward when topping up the transport card. Foreign visitors will find it challenging to figure out how to determine how much value needs to be added to the transport card to complete the desired trips.

Don't use the hop-on-hop off bus tours. Complete waste of time. Rent bikes instead and start biking. Porto is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or can't walk extensively. Enough to see and do, plenty places to eat. Beaches close by. Lovely city trip.

The weather was great, Porto was interesting, glad I went. Pavia Walkways was the best excursion we did. Otherwise, the restaurants and food were not as good as I expected and there's an awful lot of building and construction going on in the City and it will be much nicer when all of that work is finished. I enjoyed visiting Lisbon more.

I loved my room! It was like walking into a little oasis. I enjoyed the relaxing area with the sofa and TV with Netflix, the free mini-bar, and the great shutters on the windows that made my room quiet and dark for sleeping and all the special touches that made it like a little apartment away from home. It was all so much more than I expected and will make it my destination whenever I return to Porto. The staff also was super friendly and accommodating. Thank you for making my last days in Portugal and the Camino Portuguese so relaxing!

Wonderfull would be not enough to say! Utopian hotel was a last step of my travel in Portugal. The room was amazing, colorful, very clean and cozy, the large bathroom, coffee corner and many more. I basically did not want to leave! Location! I would like to mention the kindness of Sandra, she was looking after her guests and was always present for any questions we might have, people like her are truly gem for the Company! Kept us up to date about checking in early and gave us suggestions about where to keep our luggage if we were not able to check in early. The apartment was clean and spacious with an amazing view. Very quiet at well. Though the roads are small, cars are still able to come pick us up. Walking distance to the main city center and other sites, but like other places in Portugal, it is quite hilly! We were also given a book with great recommendations for food and attractions.

Everything was superb; we felt welcomed and looked after form the minute we arrived. Flawless service. The best breakfast; a super-comfortable room; large bathroom; friendly staff. And when we needed extra help (laundry, flight check in problems), the hotel exceeded all expectations. Joana, Ricardo and the team are the best. We've stayed in dozens of hotels in Europe (and more than 10 in Portugal) and Infante Sagres is now our favourite.

The two of us came to discover Portugal for the first time for a week. We loved everything about the hotel. In fact, it is located in the heart of the old town. The room was big enough and comfortable. In particular, we would like to thank António, who gave us recommendations for exploring Porto and its surroundings. Our 1 week vacation felt like 2 weeks because we saw so much and every day was full of surprises.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in while in Portugal! A really well executed new hotel with beautiful details. The staff are all so welcoming, none more so than the bar and restaurant staff who seem to live and breath the hotel and its quirky ethos. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Porto. We loved this apartment! It was cozy and looked just like the pictures. The location was perfect for the upper part of the city. It is a 15 to 20 minute hilly walk down to the river or a 7 euro taxi ride. We rented a car for our Portugal trip and Manuella told us about two parking ramps very close to the apartment.
