Fabulous town, it’s got culture, it’s got architecture, it’s got a great rugby club, it’s got a busy harbour’ it’s got great cafes and restaurants, a stunning promenade and a lot more besides! Check out what’s going on at The Acorn Theatre which is brilliant. For a shortish trip see what’s on at The Minack. Best beaches are Sennen, Porthcurno, the Lelant ones, the St. Ives ones, Hayle Towans and Praa Sands. Perranuthnoe beach is good at low tide. Go to St Ives by train - the view from St Erth into St Ives is breathtaking !

Glad we got tickets for the Minack Theatre and explored the Gobal Telecommunications Museum, took the Coaster bus several tiimes, including to Land's End and walked the Coastal path to Sennen. Enjoyed the Penlee art gallery, especially in the midst of reading "Summer in February." Enjoyed a meal at the oldest pub, and at the Longboat Inn. The staff at the Info Centre were the best - gave us so many tips and set us on the right buses.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food. Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast. Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

Must say that the hotel location was convenient. It was a 15 -20 mins walk to Penzance station and 5 mins to the promenade. Liz was very sweet and had offered us rooms as soon as they were ready even before the checkin time. She also did accommodate our request to store the birthday cake and allow us to use the breakfast room for the birthday cake cutting :) She was kind enough to guideand explain us about all the nearby options to eat and for places to visit Breakfast was good and filling Overall lovely stay for the price paid !!!

A five star stay with Ali and Mike and Elvis the dog . They were gracious hosts, the room was excellent in decor size cleanliness. I can’t remember ever having a better stay, both myself and Steph my wife would like to thank our hosts for a great stay and a much needed break. We would like to congratulate them on achieving the no.1 slot of all the guest houses in the Penzance area for quality and value - a well deserved accolade for all their hard work. Can recommend Holbein House to everyone thinking of staying - five stars ! ***** 😀

Booked an overnight stay as a result of having to alter our travel plans due to the rail strike. Arrived late and tired after a 10 hour coach ride to be met by a cheery, friendly barman who checked us in. After a welcome drink and a hot bath we slept well in a clean, comfortable room. Breakfast next morning was very good and served by friendly staff. Reception staff were lovely and helpful too.. The hotel is so interesting to look around, it's history is fascinating. Good location for exploring Penzance.

Lovely staff - Joe helped us with our cases, made sure we had a table for dinner, worked the bar in the evening and made exceptional coffee to go with our cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning. The grilled seabass I had for dinner was truly the best I have had in years - cooked to perfection - and my husband's fish and chips was wonderful too. The location of this hotel is perfect to catch the Scillonian ferry, and a short walk from the Penzance train station. Totally satisfied.

Went as a family of 7 for one night. It was perfect for us in Penzance. Room was plenty big enough for all of us - 3 bunk beds and enough space to set up our portable crib. Toilet and shower was outside of the room, but was convenient and clean. Also got the full English breakfast which was fresh cooked and we thought was a good value as well. Kids always love the bunk bed experience. Wife loved the setting of the hotel. I loved the value. Would definitely return.

It is a cosy place to stay close to the Penzance Railway Station. Shopping is convenient because there are quite a lot of supermarkets, groceries, bars, and shops nearby. We were offered Cornwall brand biscuits and chocolates, which were tasty. The sofa bed was a bonus, in addition to the 2 beds upstairs.

I really like the staff here, who are elderly people with the utmost euthusiasm and passion with this work, which should be appreciated by every working person. Salute! The location of this hotel is pretty good, and you can have the seaview from your window!
