location was fabulous with the sea in front of the main bedroom and lounge windows, the sound of the waves and just watching the sea was very special. However, it was quiet which my husband and I really enjoyed but my son and daughter (in their 20's) would have preferred a little more in the way of a traditional bar being close by! The Waterfront restaurant was a very short walk (a few minutes) which was very good. Unfortunately the road to Colwell Bay was closed due to landslides. Jo our host was very good.

Very neat and exactly how the pictures were on booking.com. Meeting expectation here is exceeding expectations.

There were nice beaches nearby and a couple of nice restaurants. I'm sure you could go for nice walks along the coast path etc but we didn't have time. There isn't a huge amount in the immediate vicinity but it isn't far to anywhere on the island if you have a car (or bike) The Red Lion in Freshwater had good food but decor and atmosphere a bit lacking. the Waterfront in Totland Bay was very good - lovely setting, good food and nice staff. Others in our larger group recommended the food at the Garlic Farm but I didn't eat there

I think Totland is fairly typical of this part of the Island - few shops and not enough restaurants. Quiet and pretty, it might be a little dull for families with children, but lovely for a single older traveller.

Fabulous location with plenty of options for eating and drinking and walking with views over the Solent to Hurst castle. The Waterfront restaurant was great food. Very close to the landmark attraction of the Needles. Lots of take away options around too. Easy travelling from the ferry port at Yarmouth.

We only had a short trip to Totland but would recommend travellers to go to The Waterfront restaurant and enjoy the sunset. Easy to get to 'The Needle'. From here take a costal drive/walk along Military Rd, very relaxing and beautiful coast.

This is on the west side of I of W. easy of access via the Yarmouth ferry. There may not be so many bistros and restaurants but those that are here, The Waterfront and the Hut are great places to eat right on the beach and fantastic sunsets with the Needles in view.

Great views and walks around the headland.
Great views and walks around the headland. The Visitor Centre at the needles looked v tired and tacky.
And, sorry to say, but I felt that the National Trust wanting £7.85 for gift aid entry to Battery but only £7.10 for standard entry a bit bizarre. If they want to claim tax back, fine, but why should it be more expensive for me. We didn't go in

Newly decorated lovely clean little cottage.
It is in good walking distance from the seafront.
The communication was great from the owners. They made sure we were comfortable and happy and they were in easy reach if anything needed.
They have also prepared a goodies hamper basket for us and added some treats for our pug 😍, which was very thoughtful.
They are 🐕 friendly, which is a bonus, as most of the places and attractions are dog friendly in the Isle of Wight.
Luxury boutique hotel where everything detail has been considered. The staff were really friendly, efficient and professional. The room seems recently renovated, as does the whole hotel, and to a very high standard. Small details like cake in the room, an honesty bar and a convenient arrangement where guests can eat their own food in the dining room. It's right next to a beach walk. Very close to The Needles and the small town centre where there are pubs and cafes.
Little Bassett is absolutely immaculate and incredibly well maintained and you are provided with everything you need or it seems to be available on request. Tamara is very friendly and helpful but doesn't intrude on your stay. There was a good selection at breakfast time in terms of drink and food but don't expect a full English! It is also pleasant to be a very short walk from the sea as parking on the IoW can be expensive and hard to find.
The Cronins was a very clean and comfortable room that was well equipped with fridge, microwave, kettle, tv , plenty of storage and generous amounts of tea and coffee.
The en-suite was roomy and the shower was powerful and easy to use.
It is located within a 10 minute walk to Colwell and Totland Bay. The bus stop is 2 minutes away and buses run every half an hour to Newport or Alum Bay.
Nick and Hayley, the hosts, were friendly and helpful.
Fabulous location right on the seafront with a cafe and restaurant within easy walking distance. Added benefit of being able to leave the keys in a key safe when going to the beach. Only 10 minutes drive from the port at Yarmouth. The sunsets were beautiful and the views generally from the balcony made it very special. Lovely walk over the Headon Warren for a view of the Needles and Colwell Bay about 20 mins walk away.
The bungalow was a perfect size for our group of 3. The advertised two large doubles turned out to be one large double and a twin but that was fine for us. The beds were very comfortable and the property nicely decorated. It’s an old property but in the main it was presented in a modern style. It is very close to Totland Bay and the needles.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished, the staff were wonderful and the attention to detail was second to none. We took our dog with us and there were treats in the room for him and towels at the door to dry him off after a trip to the beach. We had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning and even an Easter egg on Easter Sunday!
Beautiful property, tastefully decorated with very good quality appliances. Found both beds to be very comfy and slept well. Quiet area. Had plenty of local walks around the area to Freshwater, Needles and Totland. Very close to Yarmouth Port (10 minute drive). Took 45 mins to get to the other side of the island.
The dining room was well arranged, not crowded. There was plenty of selection for breakfast although we only had one course. The haddock is great. The room, we were on the top floor so the room was a bit small but the bathroom etc.was fine. The location is good because we visit someone at Totland Bay.
The location was fabulous, the accommodation was very comfortable and the owners very welcoming. It provided the perfect base for exploring the western section of the Isle of Wight. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Rooms were beautifully furnished. The hotel had a shared lounge and conservatory with lovely views of the garden. Breakfast choice was excellent.
Every aspect was just perfect, it was like a 5 star hotel, nothing was any trouble, the hosts really cared about their guests. The breakfast was great.
