Food was excellent, view from breakfast room was lovely, bed was huge, coffee bags and refreshments available, even gin and tonic supplied as an assumed complimentary. Great building, lovely staff, I would visit again just for the staff, they were so accommodating.

A combination of a lot of things, the history, the beach, the pubs , the location... these are all good things. Wetherspoons and the little Angel pub are favourites of ours.
The negative are, things can be a little bit pricy. Not all the fish and chip shops are good.

We love Whitby and keep coming back.
We love Whitby and keep coming back.
Of course there is the link for Goth and Steampunk weekends, our main reason for revisiting, but the town, sites, people and the Abbey are there all year round - well worth a visit at any time of year. Oh, and don't forget about Dracula...

Whitby is our favourite place & we go several times a year. There are some lovely eating places, bars & coffee shops {the flat white coffee in Coopers is the best). Getting around is slightly difficult for me as I am in a wheelchair so we just have to plan our days but apart from that its great.
We had a 2 night stay at The Buck last month. That stunning harbour view is exceptional! I watched the boats go in and out early morning as the sun rose. The noise from the pub below did not bother us in the slightest, the bar staff are lovely and the pub has a great atmosphere! The room was small but clean & the bed was comfy. There is a private car park at the back of the building which is a rarity in Whitby! I will definitely book the Buck again, thanks for a great weekend!
Traditional Seaside Hotel. Good location in the West Cliff area of Whitby. Room/Bathroom was clean, spacious and did have a sea view although the hotel is a little way from the sea front. The local area was very quiet in the evening during our stay. Hosts were both really pleasant and the freshly cooked to order breakfast was excellent. Although we didn't move the car very much the parking permit was very useful as spaces can be difficult to find in your chosen area.
The apartment is beautifully appointed with the best location. It meant me and my friend could pop back for snacks and changes of clothes as the weather changed over the weekend (which it does in Whitby) Will try to stay again if it is available. The apartment also has a great view of the Abbey! The Master bedroom is like something out of a boutique hotel with a very comfortable bed and high quality bedding! Didnt want to get up in the morning!
Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours.
Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks).
Restaurant/cafe easily accessible.
Rooms had gorgeous views.
Fan & hairdryer provided in room.
Right in the heart of Whitby, this was the first time we have stopped at the Angel Hotel. To be honest, the photo's we saw online didn't quite do it justice. The room had a modern feel, was clean and comfortable and we will definitely book again when we next return. We were on the 2nd floor and heard no noise from the bar below. It was nice to have a view of the harbour too.
The location, setting and facilities were superb. The only thing lacking at this hotel is that we found that the food was quite 'hit and miss' for the price range (undercooked/overcooked items at dinner, breakfast buffet and hot food could be much improved).
The pool and spa facilities are great and the setting in unbeatable however.
Fabulous hotel, very attentive staff, comfortable room. We were given a room upgrade on arrival as it was my husbands birthday. Breakfast was lovely and the spa facilities were great. Very relaxing and quiet hotel, couldn’t hear any noise from other guests. Location was nice and peaceful but within easy reach of Whitby and Sandsend.
Fantastic location. Could not fault. Beautiful old building, you could sense the history. Room was bright, clean, and overlooking the harbour and out to the abbey at the other side of the bay. Stunning. Great choice at breakfast of different meals to suit all tastes.
A different and very tastefully decorated guest house, a cut above what is the norm. Lovely hosts, nothing too much trouble. Breakfassts A1, location 5 mins from the harbour. Comfortable, v clean and classy. Will be using this residence next time in Whitby.
Great apartment, spacious enough for the family of 4. Very comfortable with everything you may need. Clean. On the first floor with parking space, what seems to be a luxury in Whitby. Very close to the harbour, walking distance to most of the places.
From the hotel quality bed to the modern bathroom and interesting decor alongside the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts and the view of the Abbey make this the perfect place to stay for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bat and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Situated close enough to Whitby to be convenient yet also far enough away to get a break from the crowds is Whitby. Only one min away from station and only one stop from Whitby. Parking was on site and the hotel was quiet and well maintained.
Staff fantastic, restaurant great, bar great and lovely food, location excellent for views and walks to Whitby and access to Robin Hood Bay. Bus stop outside hotel, post office/news agents almost next door. Free parking at rear of hotel...
A well located hotel / pub, with easy access to Whitby, the North Yorks Coast and North Yorks Moors. Good parking and good breakfast menu choice (included in our price). Warm and clean room. Spacious dining rooms and bar. Friendly staff.
Lovely hotel right by the sea and beach we could hear the waves from our room 😊 Great views of Whitby and the harbour very close to the abbey steps. Great room comfy bed loved the coffee machine we will definitely be back.
Room was well appointed and clean, good view over the harbour, and the hotel is in a central location to Whitby. (steep climb from the harbour). Plenty of choice at breakfast. Evening meal was good pub grub.
It was a self-catering, two-bedroom flat in a secure building within a few minutes' walking distance of Whitby town centre and harbour. The flat came with an underground parking space for the car.
