Food was excellent, view from breakfast room was lovely, bed was huge, coffee bags and refreshments available, even gin and tonic supplied as an assumed complimentary. Great building, lovely staff, I would visit again just for the staff, they were so accommodating.

We love Whitby and keep coming back.
We love Whitby and keep coming back.
Of course there is the link for Goth and Steampunk weekends, our main reason for revisiting, but the town, sites, people and the Abbey are there all year round - well worth a visit at any time of year. Oh, and don't forget about Dracula...

Whitby is our favourite place & we go several times a year. There are some lovely eating places, bars & coffee shops {the flat white coffee in Coopers is the best). Getting around is slightly difficult for me as I am in a wheelchair so we just have to plan our days but apart from that its great.

Beautiful seaside town. Sandy beach.
Beautiful seaside town. Sandy beach. North Yorkshire Moors railway, fish and chips to die for. Lovely shops and town famous for Dracula weekend.
Beautiful parks,pubs, restaurants and shops.
A bit hilly so not for those with walking problems but there are cabs a plenty to get you to where you stay.
And of course film locations for TV show Heartbeat. James Cook museum and Whitby museums well worth a visit
Our room was spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was generous and a bargain at the price we paid. The hotel has a lovely quiet garden and an honesty bar means you can enjoy a relaxing drink before turning in for the night. The location was ideal for walking into Whitby and the picturesque village itself has a nice pub and a licensed cafe further along the river where you can sit and enjoy a nice drink and a meal. There are some nice local walks nearby and you can hire a rowboat or a kayak to enjoy an hour on the river.
The location of this hotel is fantastic as it is a few yards from the harbour of Whitby.
The staff are efficient, smiling and very helpful.
It was a very comfy room, well equipped and clean with a great bed that was very comfortable to sleep on.
The view from our room -309- was great too, over looking the harbour and up to the abbey.
The breakfast was good quality and enough choice for most people. Special requests I made on the cooking of my breakfast was accommodated. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was lovely there was plenty of choice , everything was fresh a cooked lovely , also various options and refills of tea and coffee , the service was first class , our room was amazing , the bed very comfortable, beautiful bath and shower facilities, everywhere very clean with fantastic attention to detail , within walking distant of whitby harbour or park n ride 5 mins away , the surrounding grounds have lovely views , lovely staff very attentive ,with welcoming and easy booking in and out of hotel
Great location, very comfortable and clean. A great place for self catering as the kitchen area was well stocked. Tea & coffee, sugar & some biscuits were supplied & even milk in the fridge (semi-skimmed would have been better than while but I know I’m being very picky). Small tubes of shower gel etc and clean soft towels. We didn’t switch the tv in but it was there and there was plenty of space & lovely views of Pannet park & Whitby abbey.
This is a great Wetherspoons hotel right on the harbour in Whitby. Separate entrance for hotel guests and key fob access into the bar and restaurant. Whitby can be pricey for accommodation, but the Angel was £80 for 1 night room only, which was quite reasonable. There isn't a car park at the Angel but we parked in the Marina car park which costs £9 for 24 hours and is no more than a 5 min walk away.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours.
Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks).
Restaurant/cafe easily accessible.
Rooms had gorgeous views.
Fan & hairdryer provided in room.

Food is lovely dining room is beautiful lovely set out, table service, rooms are comfy spacious warm and clean.free car park. It is our first time staying here but definitely be back thankyou to all concerned.
Probably the quirkiest location we’ve ever stayed in, absolutely fabulous. Even though you’re smack bang in the middle of the harbour it still felt really tranquil. From the outside it doesn’t look big, but the layout inside is well conceived and feels roomy. Just a lovely space.
Staff fantastic, restaurant great, bar great and lovely food, location excellent for views and walks to Whitby and access to Robin Hood Bay. Bus stop outside hotel, post office/news agents almost next door. Free parking at rear of hotel...
A well located hotel / pub, with easy access to Whitby, the North Yorks Coast and North Yorks Moors. Good parking and good breakfast menu choice (included in our price). Warm and clean room. Spacious dining rooms and bar. Friendly staff.
