The food at the restaurant is one of the best we had in Bali.

Villa Uma Ayu - a curate's egg . .
Spectacular location, lush vegetation, view of Gunung Agung, some charming looking cottages, plenty of ponds with fish, some surrounding the cottages. . and a swimming pool. Staff smiling and helpful. The usual included breakfast plus sweet Balinese option. On the plus side, the owner wasn't stuffy about amending our stay dates, and communication was good. Definitely not wheelchair accessible, no AC (not an issue for us).
In the heart of the Balinese countryside, with views of the mountains and gardens, Villa Pelangi Sideman offers an outdoor pool and villas with private terraces.

Sidemen is still not too touristic and does feel off the beaten track. There is a lot of development happening, but locals still see people as people. It is walkable in 30-ish minutes. There is plenty of restaurants, tracks and things to do while being there. Would definitely recommend! Easy to get to and 1 hr away from the beach. Very calm and quiet.

Great authentic area to visit in Bali, the rice terraces are spectacular and also there are some nice views around if you go by scooter. Good area for tourist needs, nice warungs and restaurants ( i recommend Samanvaya) in the area, scooter rental and stores. Pretty close to many waterfalls, views and other atttractions like Penglipuran Village.
The main streets get pretty busy sometimes and some b roads are in a really bad shape, but with a scooter you can overcome everything and the spectacular nature makes you forget any inconvenience.

Good and clean restaurant at the hotel.
Good and clean restaurant at the hotel. Several other restaurants at walking distance. Laundry and motor rental available. Nice traditional pasar only 5 to 10 minutes drive by motor. Great place to start waterfall excursions and rafting.
The countryside at Sidemen is breath taking!
The ladies of Embang homestay are really lovely and took very good care of me. They were very thoughtful when I came back from my day, they had prepared hot water, drink and a snack for me in my room. I loved the view from my balcony and the massage pavilion is in the middle of the river fields which was a unique experience. It is very quiet and every morning you can hear the sounds of nature. I had initially planned only on staying 1 night but ended up extending my stay. Would definitely return here when I am in sidemen.
Dika homestay is an absolutely wonderful place to stay at in Sidemen. The rooms are very nice and neat, you can order delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner from a menu for an affordable price, and can eat it at the table on your own balcony. They will also happily arrange any kind of tour or transport you would like. Wayan is a lovely woman, who is very welcoming and friendly. She treats you like family and always has a smile on her face. I thank her for the lovely time I had and I recommend this to everyone!
• Location - 1km away from the main hustle of Sidemen village, but right in the rice fields and has amazing surroundings and scenery!
• The place is new and very well-maintained, the rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable bed, good bathroom, really nice front porch.
• There is AC, unlike most hotels in Sidemen!
• There is private parking if you have a rented scooter or car.
The owner was very helpfully in helping me and my crutches get to the hotel.
The breakfast was always served on time and very punctual.
The whole area is very tranquil, almost in the middle of the forest where you can hear the local fauna.
The mosquito net was very helpful in that regard.
We were able to rent a scooter directly with the owner for a very good price.
The view was so beautiful. Also liked shower outside. Breakfast was ok if you like american or continental breakfast although it was cold. We were there in the raining season and the room service without extra services was super. You can order even breakfast into your room☺️. you can also rent a scooter from the hotel. That is must have in Sidemen.
Sensational hotel - beautiful setting among the rice fields with sweeping 360 degree views from the bungalow and restaurant. Wonderfully decorated in true Bali vibes, very comfortable and the villa is so spacious! Very quiet area and hotel does a great tour of the rice fields. Very friendly owner and staff - helpful and accommodating.
That was the best accommodation for us in Bali in general. The rooms are big, very confortable and clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. It's easy to rent a moto and travel around Sidemen, which is such a beautiful area of Bali!
Everything was very good. I especially liked the shower amenities (with the lavanda smell) :)))
I totally recommend staying at Samanvaya if you are planning a trip to Sidemen. This is a very luxurious resort. The staff was very friendly and helped us to book activities near Sidemen. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel is a bit expensive for Bali but worth it if you can afford it even for one night.
Stunning location in peaceful Sidemen, big and comfortable rooms, perfect to rest and relax. Great garden and pool with views on the rice terraces. It’s not well advertised, but the hotel can help guests organize private tours and activities at competitive prices. Would stay here again no doubt.
Beautiful boutique hotel with an exceptionnal view.
The staff took great care of us and our kids during our stay, the calm in Sidemen area is really appreciated compared to busy Ubud. We had a great time at Surya Shanti Villa and we will definately recommend our friends to visit!
Gorgeous little spot in Sidemen, would highly recommend you include Sidemen in your Bali trip and if you do then stay here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! The view from the pool is amazing. The little restaurants and warungs in walking distance to the hotel are ace too!
Fantastic location, great view, you really sleep amongst nature. Only thing is during the day it is not private as many farmers working the rice fields. Sidemen was a nice village to explore and Gede was a great host, very very helpful. He went above and beyond.
Beautiful decorated resort. The landscaping is superb, every detail is perfect. Beautiful pools overlooking the rice fields.
Staff is very helpful and friendly .
Rooms are large with beautiful interior design .
Sidemen is a nice region , away from all the noise
New, very clean homestay type of accommodation in the middle of Sidemen, with friendly hosts and unparalelled views of Mt. Agung right outside the window. Simple but very comfortable.
Big up to Ketut who took care of me during my trip. We went to an unforgettable journey to the temples. I will keep this memory forever with me.
The hotel is gorgeous, amazing pool.
Absolutely fabulous, wished I could stay more nights, beauty of a hotel and views of the padis and mountain 🏔️ ever changing, defo be back.. lovely staff, very happy and helpful..
