Hotel up the hill in the village, with great views. The staff is super friendly and they are really trying to give you the best time. The breakfast was delicious and not expensive, with home made jam that is really good. A lot of hikes are in this area.
Set on the tiny Canary Island of Gomera, this small and quiet apartment complex has an outdoor pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and is just a 5-minute walk to the fabulous local beaches.

The staff is very friendly.
Because of some other older reviews we have searched for bedbugs in our room, but fortunately we haven't found any, it seems they got rid of this problem.
Bus stop, beach, mountains and supermarket are in walking distance.

Location - great view. Good electric heater, definitely needed at this altitude and this time of year. Bed comfortable. Liked the resident cat on log outside!
Offering pleasant views, Pensión Amparo Las Hayas is set in Las Hayas, close to Garajonay National Park. The guest house features a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in public areas.
I have been here several times. It's a great place for a winter escape. Once you've got the boat over from Tenerife, you get round the island by bus, taxi or boat, and it's away from the crowds. Good place to go if you like hiking, and just as good if you prefer to potter about. You're never that far from the beach. Mountains behind you and the sea in front of you. Watching the sunset each evening over the sea is a "thing". Good places to eat and drink. Love it here.

It's a lovely peaceful, chilled out little town.
It's a lovely peaceful, chilled out little town. Lovely beach and has a super arty, hippy vibe. A few great little shops but nothing too commercialised. I only stayed 1 night but 3 or 4 in good weather would have been lovely too. You can walk around the whole place.
There are buses serving the town from Vallehermoso and San Sebastian and the airport. They are very cheap and reliable.

Stunning views of mountains, sea views and views of the other canary islands. Good selection of beaches. Good choice of bars and restaurants, some music and entertainment in local venues. A few buses a day to get to the trails and back to San Sebastian. Difficult to work out the bus times at the stops in-between. (I would have liked more information on how the buses link up to trails and information on local moderate walks for newbie walkers who are not very confident!) but the views from the trails are awesome! If i came again i would sign up to some organised walks. But for experienced and confident hikers the trails are very clearly marked.

Valle Gran Rey on the island of La Gomera is a wonderful destination. It is not a crowded or over developed resort. There are some spectacular, if challenging, walks with amazing views. The climate is good in the Winter although the wind can be strong at times. There is a protected bay suitable for swimming when the Atlantic waves are too high elsewhere and a really lovely safe 'Baby Beach' suitable for young children. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. Valle Gran Rey is a little difficult to get to (flight to Tenerife, fast ferry to San Sebastian and then either a bus or hire car over the mountains or second ferry along the coast, but that keeps it nice and quiet! This was my twelfth visit to the island and people do return year after year.

Valle Gran Rey is a beautiful area with beaches, safe swimming areas, good restaurants & cafes. Boat trips are available from the harbour @ Vueltas. A lovely long promenade passing through all the areas which make up Valle Gran Rey's coastal areas.
- communcation with the host (fast respond, helpful)
- size of the apartament
- localization (2 minutes from the main beach), around many restaurants but hidden so it was quiet
- large terrace with a shower (very helpful when you get back from the beach)
- change of sheets, towels etc. every 3 days
- amazing view on a mountains and a village
- you can hear the relaxing sound of the waves even when we had the room on the opposite side of the builidng
This property was rented for our daughter and family. We were already in Valle Gran Rey, but staying elsewhere . The property met all of our. / their expectations . It was clean, well-equipped and centrally located near the Vueltas beach and harbour. Miriam was very helpful, particularly when our daughter’s arrival was delayed . She also went out of her way to enhance the stay, and even loaned our toddler granddaughter a bike to play with.
The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy your vacation on La Gomera. The views are stunning. The bus stop is close, so it's also an ideal place to explore La Gomera if you don't have a car. La Calera is mosty car free so be somewhat prepared to walk a lot. It's still close enough to easily walk to the beach, but it's a lot more relaxed and quiet where the apartment ist, than directly on the beach.
The hotel is at a great location. There are a lot of bars and restaurants that can be reached by foot. Also a supermarket is very close.
Playa del Ingles a beautiful natural beach with black sand is only a 10 minute walk away.
The rooms are very big. We have been positively surprised that their was a little kitchen in the room.
We also need to point out that the and staff at the hotel was very friendly.
We had a basic apartment overlooking sea as requested. It had everything we needed and the room was a good size with a lovely patio area. We could hear the waves at night and we went in the sea pool everyday so no need for the hotel pool. Cooking facilities were basic, but that suited us as we ate out a lot. Fantastic shower with lots of hot water. I would definitely stay there again.
You feel that the whole appartement is designed with love and a lot of thoughts, how to make the stay as comfortable as possible for the guests. The apparment is super clean and has a very nice design. The host is extremly freindly and caring. The beach and a little city centre with restaurants and a supermarket is only 10 minutes on foot away.
Front ocean view with amazing ocean sounds to fall asleep to. Direct little beach access in less than 3 minutes in front of the apartment. Great amount of restaurants in walking distance. The apartments design themselves are not super modern but were clean and well maintained with a kitchen and bathtub even and had their own charm.
Loved the location. Near to the beach which is out of this world, the local restaurants and shops are excellent, the people of Valle Gran Rey are open, warm. The studio was just what we needed, clean, comfortable, modern bathroom, beautiful small balcony. We'll be back and for a longer stay next time. Gracias Lola y Eva
Very well appointed apartment very close to the sea and restaurants in the La Playa part of Valle Gran Rey. Large patio area with excellent mountain view. Bus stop outside. Secure ground floor location in gated apartment block. Excellent response from owner in sorting out a light bulb problem.
It was located just across the street from the baby beach. The sunsets were beautiful. Watching all the families at the beach was great. There were lots of local restaurants with great food. The receptionist was extremely helpful.
Very comfortable, spacious, clean, well-equipped place in a beautiful environment, convenient to the beach and the mountains (assuming you have a car), excellent host. the master bedroom and bed are particularly comfortable
Great location in the lovely Valle Gran Rey. Various beaches and restaurants nearby.. Especially loved the little garden and the rooftop terrace. Friendly host who is easy to reach in case of questions.
location by the beach. Roof top breakfast. Breakfast and dinner served as a buffet with very good range of food. Valle Gran Rey is a good, central place to be based on La Gomera.
Lovely people running this well maintained residencial complex. Spacious apartment, rather big swimming pool, wifi was solid. Number of good restaurants in the vicinity.
