Very rustic and loved that a fire was ready to be lit in the fire stove. Bed comfortable but rather high. Thank goodness we aren’t short 😆. Lovely setting. Easy access to the CM visitor centre.

Great location, very friendly helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms and amenities.
Great advice on activities and what hikes to do at cradle.
We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again if ever visiting cradle mountain again.

The location, serenity and extras provided by host.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

A wonderful place!
A wonderful place! Well worth visiting for its natural beauty, walks and wildlife. Also very well organised with shuttle around the park and to major walking tracks. Definitely worth visiting ng Waldheim for the history of the place

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Shuttle buses run frequently to the shores of Dove Lake, making it a must-see mountain resort in Tasmania for easy day-hiking. It's also great to be able to see wombats up close around Ronny Creek. If you have a national park pass, you can buy a shuttle bus ticket valid for 72 hours for $15, so we recommend staying near the visitors centre for 3 to 4 nights.

A lot of walks have well maintained paths so most people can use them.
The scenery is fantastic but beware, be prepared, the weather can be very good one minute and cold and wet the next.
Pay for the shuttle bus, it makes life easier.

Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart.
Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart. Don't go the Queenstown route - it takes forever. Go via Launceston. The National Park is gorgeous. Use the boardwalk to hike up to the Creek. It's quiet and right there in the middle of the bush. We saw wallabies, birds and snakes. We hiked up to the Boat House and then used the shuttle bus back to the bus stop by our hotel. The shuttles are every 5-10 minutes. The rangers are great.

From the moment we were greeted at the front desk to when we opened the door of our cabin, our experience was excellent. The pictures online don't do the cabins justice. It was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The wood burner kept the cabin cosy and having a drink in the afternoons on the verandah and being visited by the native fauna was also a highlight. The caretakers are brilliant to talk to and host very well. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Cradle Mountain.
Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is a perfect location to base yourself for a day or two to explore this magnificent part of Tasmania. It is within strolling distance of the Parks visitor center
The accommodation was clean and comfortable, however, a little tired. The setting is beautiful, with cabins nestled amongst the trees and wildlife.
Hellyers restaurant was very good and I would have no hesitation in recommending treating yourself to a meal in front of the fire.
A bit smaller than I expected but still ok. Bathroom was small compared to some other places I have stayed on this trip. Room was clean and tidy and beds were comfy. We had room service on our first night which was lovely and ate at the bistro on our second night and had a game of pool - really lovely atmosphere and music and the "hot gin" was awesome!! Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain and no snow but we still really enjoyed our stay at Cradle Mountain Hotel.
Located conveniently close to Cradle Mountain NP.
Check-in process seemless. Reception Staff were friendly, gave excellent service and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The fact that there was quite a well stocked area with a range of grocery items, including dairy and frozen goods, was a bonus for our travelling group.
The cabins were equipped with a very efficient heating system, which had been turned on prior to our arrival, to warm the rooms up.
Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
Loved the privacy and comfort of the cabin with the wilderness of Cradle Mountain close by. What a sensational place - one of the most beautifule places I have ever been. It's a quick walk from the cabins to the ranger station and the Cradle Mountain bus service to get to Dove Lake, from where the world heritage wilderness can be accessed - for a quick walk or a grand trek.
Free shuttle bus to connect to the cradle mountain shuttle bus. Very convenient. Indoor spa tub can help you recover from the trails. Warm fireplace keeps you warm and the balcony will have wild animals and easy to see the stars. The hotel itself has a lot of trails from 10minutes to 1 hour. The breakfast is very good.
The Tavern food was absolutely delicious and well priced. Our Cabin was towards the back of the hotel area with a forest walk right outside our door. The forest view was amazing, so calming and peaceful. The hotel itself is just outside the national park, and a 2min walk to the nearest shuttle bus stop.
Full kitchen with gas oven and cook top. Wood burning fireplace and heater makes for a very warm cabin. Electric blankets. Extensive DVD collection for rainy days. Cabins are private and comfortable. Located straight across the road from the information centre/ shuttle bus for cradle mountain.
We had the most amazing stay at Cradle Mountain Hotel, it was a last minute decision to book in and we decided to stay 2 nights.
Rooms were warm, cosy and comfortable, staff were amazing and the breakfast that was included was beautiful.
Will definatly be staying here again.
This place located within easy reach of Cradle Mountain. The room itself was sizable, with a gas 'log' fireplace within the room. The balcony looking out to the grass and pond was lovely. We caught sight of wallabies and possums from our balcony.
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is the more expensive but premier accommodation at the Cradle Mountains. It's idyllic setting in the wilderness means that at dusk and dawn, you will see free-ranging wombats and padymelons outside your room.
Really? It's Cradle Mountain. The most expensive stay of our trip but so worth it. We did a couple of amazing hikes. The cabin was great and it was only expensive because it was just the 2 of us for 2 bedrooms...
The cabins were spacious, well appointed and set amongst the bush to provide a nice secluded experience. The restaurant food was excellent, the service and attention of the restaurant manager was exceptional.
There are limited accommodation choices in Cradle mountain. This is one of the few which is good value for money with shared bathroom and shared kitchen.
