At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.
As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

Many things to do, places to see in Brisbane, we always have “staycations” when we can, we live in Shnshine Coast which is just an hour away by car or 1.5 hours by train. Lots of things to offer: food, shopping, cultural precincts, friendly people

Brisbane weather was great, public transport especially...
Brisbane weather was great, public transport especially river trips were lovely, food was excellent, different areas of city almost like individual villages were lovely, art galleries, museum, theatre etc in South Bank such a great day trip in one area. Great for walking, feels safe, shopping was excellent and Brisbane airport is so easy by private car or train. And then you can also go to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast for beaches or even further. A lovely spot only exception is driving in the city on one way streets with no where to pull over if you get lost driving in rush hour. Just avoid this and Brisbane is great.

Had a funky smell in the lifts, and the room when first entered, the bed wheels had no locks so it rolled away from the bed head, but was very comfortable to sleep in though. Loved the location as it was a short walk to Queen St mall, my kids loved it, also my two boys (18 and 20) went to the Hillsong church across the road and loved that there was the gym around the corner. Would've been nice if there was a room for families to all stay together instead of different units (my husband and our 5kids) we still enjoyed our stay though.

I have lived in Brisbane for thirty or so years and have worked there, and lived there with my family. It was still good, but more people everywhere. It is still nice and tidy in the City Centre and has good public transport.
What to avoid? I don't know, we had dinner in a nice restaurant with friends at the Southbank, and our hotel was nearby in walking distance. One cannot ask for more.

Easy city to find our way around and great public transport (trains and ferries). Fantastic dining options and beautiful parks. Love the rooftop bars and views over the river. Highly recommend Felons bar and restaurant for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon by the river. Lots of vegetarian/vegan restaurants. Would recommend City Bowl (delicious Chinese food) and Zazata as a fine dining Mediterranean option.

I have visited Brisbane many times.
I have visited Brisbane many times. Mostly for medical specialist appointments or to attend music events. My stays are generally not for long periods - a night or 2. My usual transport to the city is by car with a handful of air travel arrivals. Each visit has been trouble-free. I find
I manage driving in the traffic well & the times I use public transport has been easy. Each accommodation venue I have stayed at has more than met my needs. Because my time in Brisbane is limited for convenience I usually order food delivered so can not comment on places to dine. As a visitor, I truly have no complaints.
Meriton offer clean and well appointed self contained apartments with - I think everything that folk need for a comfortable stay - albeit highly priced when you compare to a normal hotel room that usually offer breakfast as part of price,Meriton don't but do offer your normal home type features to do it yourself. This makes Meriton more expensive to hotels in some respects. But given that all hotels become highway robbers by lifting prices beyond reasonable whenever a major event hits their town always annoys.
The location was perfect for our visit as was just a short walk to the gabba and a short walk to southbank. It's a bit further if you need to get to CBD but not that much further. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful, we felt very welcomed . Loved that there is a balcony and It was comfortable to sleep. The hotel is clean and the pool and spa was great!
We didn't have breakfast with you but did have snacks and coffee using the modern kitchen set-up.
The room was spotless, fabulous high ceilings, great relaxing colours, super comfortable beds and a view from a very classic building in a great location close to CBD and Southbank.
We were so happy with the room and will stay there again next time we go to Brisbane
The house is in a great location - only a few minutes from the CBD and easy access to arterial roads around Brisbane. We walked into Southbank one evening for a swim and feed - supermarket and foods options are only a short distance. The house is tidy and comfortable.
Location was ideal, despite being in the Brisbane CBD, it was located at a corner along Queens Street, a 1.5mile away from the city centre. Most of the shops were just minutes walk and good coffee and breakfast was readily available next to the hotel. Nice location!!
great location opposite the gardens, quiet but convenient location in the CBD. can walk anywhere, including to Southbank, theatres, art galleries. Good buffet breakfast, ample but not outstanding. Parking access is very easy. This hotel is an old favourite for me.
Clean, comfortable, and safe. Free, inside parking. Free laundry facilities. Walkable neighborhood. (PA stands for Princess Anastasia. The apartments are directly across the street from a hospital of the same name.) Quick drive to the Brisbane CBD.
The staff were very helpful and the apartments were clean and well-appointed. The hotel's in a great location – it's a ten-minute walk from the Queensland Children's Hospital (where our son was being treated), South Bank train station, and shops.
We stayed on 2 separate nights - 1 week apart. Well appointed Apartment.
Our 2nd night's stay - the apartment overlooked the Brisbane River - amazing views, especially at night.
Great location & easy access to CBD, Southbank and Restaurants.
Great location in central Brisbane city. Nice restaurants and river front within close walking distance. Hotel is lovely and the room looked recently renovated. Room was a good size, clean and very comfortable.
Great location in Southbank;
Friendly check in service;
Excellent customer service from staff;
Clean and new(ish) rooms w/nice balcony and view of Brisbane and Southbank!
The location is great. The hotel is located in the middle of CBD. The bed is comfy. The cleanliness is great. The hotel provides standard facilities. Staff are helpful.
The room was very spacious, but dated. The room reminded me very much of 90s hotel rooms I used to sometimes stay at with my parents as a child.
Great CBD location.
This property is located right in the heart of Brisbane and an easy walk not only to CBD meetings but also Southbank, a great entertainment/restaurant district.
