Really enjoyed doing the Gordon River Heritage Cruise, it was informative and so much wonderful things you wouldn't get to see if you didn't do it. The Captain and staff were lovely and it was a really relaxing day. Highly recommend visiting the Huon Pine Historic Mill and shops as well. The town itself is very small and seems to be run mostly by a few families. So not a lot of restaurant or cafe options. I found the Strahan Village buffet restaurant 42 Degrees that was touted as the gourmet option in town as very average for the price.

Strahan is worth visiting for the Gordon River Cruise and the play, The Ship That Never Was. There is a small nature walk to a small waterfall that is an easy walk. There is a small beach just outside of town as well. Dining options are limited, suggest View 42 buffet, reservations required.

Strahan was a quaint little town with not an awful lot to see and do, but what there is, is worth the visit. We had only the one full day in Strahan - for the river cruise (stayed in town for 2 nights): if we had the time again, we’d allow a second day for local sight-seeing and the train ride. We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather, making the day cruise truly memorable, including some absolutely beautiful scenery and a fascinating tour of the convict settlement on Sarah Island. Unfortunately, the seafood buffet at ‘View 42 Degrees’ was fully booked out, so we’d advise phoning ahead for that! We weren’t entirely sure if we’d visit Strahan as part of our Tasmania trip as it was a little ‘out of our way’: we are now glad that we made the effort!

We loved everything we did in Strahan - from staying in the King Suite in the Wilderness Lodge, to the World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River, The Ship That Never Was play, Hogarth Falls and sunsets over the water on Beach Rd. The locals were fanatastic too - do yourself a favour and go there !

When we booked a few months ago we received a call from Megs welcoming us and asking if we had any special requests. How nice. On arrival, Megs was very friendly, informative and helpful. Our cabin was comfortable, clean and warm with great amenities. The BBQ area was a welcome addition for outdoor cooking. The only thing I would add to the cabins or BBQ area would be a stainless steel spatula. Plastic just doesn’t cut it. Great place to stay - close to all that beautiful Strahan has to offer.

What a great little cottage. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Had everything you needed for a self catered holiday, but seriously the food offerings in Strahan were delicious, so we barely used the kitchen. A short (but steep) walk into town for restaurants and the pub. The hosts are a lovely couple, and also run a Whisky and Spirits bar in town - well worth a visit! We had an amazing time in Strahan. Would highly recommend visiting and staying at Kerrillie cottages.

What view from the room, it was a car ride from the main hotel, their was no room for disabled parking, the view was out to the car park, which was below the car park surface. It would seam to us the Hotel controlled the whole of Strahan, thus making the food and beverages none competitive. This was our second trip to Strahan and it will be our last.

This was a dreamy and dreamlike place at the same time. Nestlled in the beautiful setting of Tasmanian wilderness, there is a beautiful garden, a big room with kitchen and everything. Also the WIFI and the shower were good. Excellent accomodation 5 Mins driving from Ocean Beach and Strahan town center. Could not be much better....

Lovely little cottage tucked off the street, behind a small rainforest gully. Comfortable, everything we needed and close to the centre of Strahan. While Larissa (the owner) is interstate, both she and Lisa (the local lady) were super helpful and easy to contact.
