A very attractive, low-key yet well-designed and well-run hotel in perfect seclusion. Excellent breakfast and dinner on the spacious terrace, a welcoming pool and a relaxing massage at the SPA. Very attentive staff; helped us with a last-minute e-Bike rental (also great). Easy parking, short distances everywhere. Bonus point: The Alphorn musician in the evening!
Peacefully located a 5-minute drive from Bad Reichenhall, this family-run hotel has a lakeside terrace overlooking Lake Thumsee.

If not impressed by the warmth of the hosts as you enter the building, the proportion size of the rooms, then I suggest that you walk out on to the balcony & be blown away by the surroundings. Before the stay I was in contact with the host and found communication excellent. Her English was excellent, as opposed to my German which is schoolboy from 40 years ago.
The area is beautiful, there is a bus stop about 4-500m from the hotel, of which being a guest you get a pass covering lines 1,2,3,4. The town folk are very friendly, thou speak little English, I managed to get by (thanks to their patience and pointing mainly!)
The WIFI is both secure & well connected. The proportion of the room was excellent. I an a larger man and usually find myself tripping over tables or bumping into beds. Crashing knees into sinks etc, here none of that, clearly a lot of thought had gone into everything.
There is also enough electrical sockets to run a football stadium! I counted 9 (most hotels I see 2 or 3) :)
These hosts do naturally, what other hotels struggle to work on. 12/10

Bad Reichenhall is a hidden gem near the Austrian border .
Bad Reichenhall is a hidden gem near the Austrian border . Big & small enough to walk , nice centre with shops , restaurants and very old brevery , old town , old salt mine + the Rupertus Therme to relax your body after long day . Town surrounded by the beautifull mountains , fill like being in spa resort ( fresh clean air ) . Just few cliks from there : Koenig Lake, Eagle Nest , Panorama road (you drive a car at 1500m over the sea level to admire landscapes- in my case it was fail due to low level of clouds so I saw nothing ,he,he ) , 40min of train and you are in Saltzburg .
Can't be bored out there .

Beautiful town in the heart of Bavaria and the Alpine Strasse. Central for Salzburg and the Eagle's Nest. Lots of interesting shops, restaurants and cafes and churches. There is a station with direct trains to Salzburg and lots of buses. If you stay in a hotel or apartment, you will get a guest card for free. This gives free journeys on all public transport and discount on a number of activities.

I had my meals mainly at two excellent restaurants in Bad Reichenhall: Schwabenbräu and Alle Stazione. I went to the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden (a 20-minute drive from Bad Reichenhall), where there is a nice view of a lake surrounded by the Alpen's mountains and a boat trip around the lake. The view was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the restaurants there were closed.

Bad Reichenhall has a wonderful atmosphere.
Bad Reichenhall has a wonderful atmosphere.
We love especially the parks!
Kurpark is even a smoke-free zone, which his great. So you can inhale the salty air while walking around the Gradier-House and really feel the salt in the air.
I have regularly issues with breathing, and this air is such an amazing experience! Just fantastic

Oh besides parking area issues, the Bayern Vitale was perfect! Breakfast was fabulous! Everything was freshly made and there were plenty of choices. Even gf bread on request. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sky bar terrace was a nice space also. The staff was fantastic and accommodating to special drinks and food. Highly recommend this hotel pool spa rooms were very nice! Walking distance to downtown and thermbath. Close enough drive to the trails parks and attractions. Recommend National Park and Hans Porsche musuem.
Perfect location in the historic spa district of Bad Reichenhall. Easy walking distance to the beautiful park areas, the downtown pedestrian mall area and many great restaurants. We stayed one week and did not have a car. We always used the excellent public transportation system instead.
Our hosts were very friendly and always tried to be helpful. We booked a spotless vacation apartment instead of a hotel room and prepared most of our meals ourselves. A nearby grocery store sold everything we needed.
We had been planning for this trip for quite some time now, due to the pandemic, and when we arrived, we all were so happy to see the spacious flat with the great balcony view. Once we arrived, we only had to call the owner of the property. He is a very friendly gentleman who came over to hand the keys and gave us a small tour of the flat and...as a BONUS he told us the best places around in Bad Reichenhall. The view from the glass covered balcony (10th floor) was just too good!
Staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you to them. Room was comfortable and clean. It had a small seating area, small kitchen and fridge. A balcony made things complete. Breakfast was superb in a beautifully decorated lounge. The hotel is set amongst trees, in a quiet residential area near a park and the RupertusTherme - it’s very peaceful.
Bus (no. 4) takes you into the town centre and the stop is less than 100m away.
The location of the hotel is in a quiet area, close to the central park, the pedestrian area and the train station. The room was spacious, with a balcony and a very nice view. The breakfast was consistent and with quality products.
The Guestcard offered by the hotel is a substantial advantage for trips in the area.
Mrs. Julia Temeier was a very welcoming host, who gave us all the support we needed.
We warmly recommend this hotel.
Very comfortable stay in a spacious room with a nice balcony. Effective aircon on a very hot day.
Accommodation in Bad Reichenhall is expensive in general, but this hotel was reasonable in comparison.
Easily walkable to most points of interest in the town, and the guest card offering free transport in the region was very welcome and useful
A really cozy house, very nicely decorated for Christmas, just in the heart of the city. It has everything you need for your staying. Very clean with a wonderful view. The owner gave us all the information we needed. It is highly recommended,if you are planning a trip to Bad Reichenhall. Thanks for making our Christmas vacation so nice!
Beautiful hotel with nice staff. Really enjoyed the fantastic breakfast it was very special. They even let my friends come and pay separately for their breakfasts even though they weren’t staying at the hotel.
The beds were comfortable their room was quite clean and had nice amenities. Highly recommended.
The hotel owner is very kind. They do all kinds of activities for groups if you call and ask, but they are for ages 14 up. Bedding is down and super comfy. breakfast was very nice for German standards. Bunkbeds are sturdy.
Sauna in the hotel was great.
The location is perfect for sightseeing and also for trains to the rest of the area.
The small 'bar' with an honesty system was a nice touch.
First of all - The staff were alwyas very nice and friendly.
Second - The breakfast was very good , always fresh and tasty.
Then - I must say It was really clean hotel.
Great hotel, could not be better located. Arrived on the evening of a local fest so no room to eat but the place was hopping. Huge room and comfortable beds, good stay
