It was a little way out of Estremoz and Google maps couldn't find the address but I messaged the host in advance and she provided exact GPS coordinates which worked perfectly. Super quiet, well equipped and the back patio was beautiful. Everything worked and the Wifi was good. Host was very responsive.
Great little town in the Alentejo on the border with Spain.
Great little town in the Alentejo on the border with Spain. Fantastic market on Saturday morning and the tile museum which is fabulous. There are many wineries in the area and some really good restaurants - Howard's Folly, Merceria Gadanha and the restaurant Gadanha in the hotel.

We loved the town and the efforts gone to celebrate Christmas. We also highly recommend the restaurants we visited and the friendly and helpful staff. In particular the staff at the cafe KIMBO who went out of their way to help when I left my phone there!

Greate place to visit on a weekend, and escaping the agitation of by cities. I recommend being saturday morning in Estremoz and enjoy the market that happens on saturdays until lunch time. In the market you can find many fresh foods. The variety of cheeses is good.

It was a nice town and had a restaurant that we never got around to because it was raining and we ate at the one 50 years from castle reception area. Its a great spot to use as a base as we went to Elvas (great castle and square), Evora, Vila Vicosa from here and returned. You could also do several other towns.

Typical Portuguese historic city, so if history, castles,...
Typical Portuguese historic city, so if history, castles, churches and monuments are your remit/bag then Estremoz has a lot to offer. It also has a marble quarry/hill on its outskirts that makes it Europes 2nd largest marble producer apparently, interesting or is a blot on the landscape? We thought not but reserve full judgement.
Nice one-night stay just outside Estremoz. The hotel is easy to find and just off the highway. Reception was easy and quick. Our room was spacious and comfortable and very quiet in the evening. Plenty of onsite parking available. There's a nice courtyard to enjoy a drink from the bar (very reasonable prices!) overlooking the pool (too cold to enjoy in early May). The breakfast buffet was decent with enough options to choose from. Easy drive into town for dining options and sightseeing.
Breakfast was excellant, lots of choice of natural, fresh & local products. We ordered a lunch upon arrival, sandwich & salad that was huge & delicious prepared by host that brought it to our room patio! Garden space between rooms units & pool was wonderful, beautiful contemporary design overall, little fountains for each private room unit patio. Hosts were so helpful in suggestions & reserving restaurants for dinner in Estremoz.
Magnificent heritage castle premises on top of the small hill in the middle of nowhere, over which it has excellent views. We used this hotel for an over-night break in a self-drive journey from north to south - and we were so please that we did. The corridors and guest areas of the hotel are furnished with many splendid antique items and the generously-sized rooms are very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Reception staff were informed and helpful. Location was on the edge of the town with country views from the room. Hotel only two hundred metres from the town centre. Car parking had ability and availability to charge our EV. Room was quiet and had a large 2mx2m bed (always a bonus). Breakfast good. Overall a very good choice for a 2 night stay.
Christina is very thoughtful and nice.. she gave us recommendations of places to visit and she has everything in the house from books to playing cards. The house is also very beautiful and clean. It is well located, not so far from the city center, very near to the castle and has a nice view. We definitely recommend this place !
This was a delightful gem in Estremoz. The staff was wonderful and the chef is passionate and super kind and friendly. breakfast was wonderful and we were sad not to be able to be there when they were open for dinner. We were there during the off season in January, so the town was quiet. Beautiful little city.
Breakfast was great with good variety of food. The best Croissants I've had in quite a long time. Free parking is available. Hotel's location is very good only about 10 minutes to the heart of the City and Castle. btw: Estremoz is a very nice City, well kept and looking very well, worth the visit.
The central location of the hotel with the parking in front. There are 3 parking spots reserved for the hotel. The hotel is really easy to access when arriving in Estremoz.
The room was quite large with a big terrace with a table and 2 chairs and a beautiful view of the castle.
Excellent location in an historic castle. The staff is very nice and helpful (like everywhere in Portugal so far in our trip)
Breakfast is superb and the premise is fantastic.
One more memorable stay in Portugal!
This is a beautiful apartment in a perfect location in Estremoz. Very close to the main square. The place is very clean and well appointed! Filipe and Paula are great hosts! Highly recommended!
Our favorite place in Portugal. Gracious hosts, beautiful house and pool, comfy beds and amazing breakfasts.. Close to town with incredible restaurants. Our second visit and we hope to visit again.
This hotel is simply wonderful. Beautiful interiors, super cool rooftop with the best cocktails, and one of the best food experience we’ve ever had in their restaurant! truly an impressive hotel!
The location was perfect, a very central and calm area. The hotel is quite an antique, but that's the beautiful part about it, it really is like a travel back in time. Price-quality relationship.
This was a beautiful place. We had reserved only one night, but wished we had booked two. The pool was beautiful, and the breakfast was the best we had during a week in Portugal.
