The location was excellent.
our room overlooked the back of the hotel and the bus station but was very quiet.
We opted for a room wih no breakfast included but there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room
so it didn't matter.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Everywhere was SO clean.

With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.
King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.
Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. The beaches & cliffs in Lagos are stunning. There are plenty activities for those wanting to spend time on the water. The city centre is not that big but there are a lot of good restaurants to visit. Ideal for a relaxing beach holiday

Lagos is a beautiful old city with modern hotels and apartments outside the walled centre.
There are plenty of beaches and experiences to be seen and a fabulous board walk on both Meia Praia and Camilo .
Public transport is great with buses to most locations. The blue route links from Poto da Mos via Donna Anna to Meia Praia .
There is an abundance of good quality restaurants , go for the more traditional small ones for authentic food. The marina has a good vibe and some nice bars serving food.
The zoo is worth a visit and is on a bus route
Ther is something for all ages in Lagos and the surrounding area

Lovely marina area with plenty of restaurants, the Lighthouse bar on the marina is good for food and reasonable prices. Old town has a large and varied choice of bars and restaurants. Good supermarkets. Easy to get around Ubers are cheaper than taxis. Seems to be a rise in the number of beggars mainly in the old town. Plenty of sea excursions available such as fishing, dolphin spotting and visiting caves.

Lagos is a lot less touristy than some other surrounding towns. There's plenty of bars and restaurants in the old town and the marina.
Lots of beaches to choose from. On one side you have the longest beach with holden sands. And on the other, lots of small beaches in between the cliffs. Some can only be reached by boat or kayak.
Top of the cliffs offer spectacular walks along the wooden paths offering breathtaking views.

Lagos is an interesting city, with a lively city center and lots of attractions and restaurants but also magnificent nature thanks to the beaches and cliffs of Ponta da Piedade. There are plenty of one day trips to go on nearby such as Sagres, Silves, Benagil, Alvor, etc.

Beautiful beaches and grottos.
Beautiful beaches and grottos. Great restaurants, fish market, and boardwalks for walking and biking. It would have been easier to explore neighboring towns with a car. We felt limited without one. The people are so kind and considerate and laid-back. The weather in April was beautiful but too cold for swimming.
We spent a week in Lisbon, Tavira, and Lagos. Lagos was our favorite.
I really liked that the property had several pools and was walking distance to the beach. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning as well. I was thankful we chose the rate with breakfast included.
The marina and old town Lagos were a very short drive from the property. We felt like the location was in the perfect spot.
Additionally, the hotel did a great job with preventative Covid Measures as well as had a Dr. that would come to the property to complete necessary Antigen tests for traveling back to Germany.
Nuno's apartment was comfortable with everything we needed. It's in a good location with an Intermarche across the street and a coffee shop, pizza shop, and other shops nearby. A bit of a hike to the marina area, but we ended up renting a car, anyway, because we were needing to go out of Lagos a few times during our stay. Roll down Roman shades make for the best sleep experience, blocking out light almost completely. Street noise was not too noticeable, unless someone had a really loud car.
It was our 1st time in Lagos and the Villa Zawaia was a wonderful hotel. We stayed for 3 nights - enjoyed a yummy breakfast each morning on the terrace and found the hotel truly a perfect location for exploring Lagos, the surrounding beaches, finding good restaurants and still being in a nice area that was quiet at night. Also, we had a rental car and it was super easy to park at the free parking lot 3 minute walk away. Highly recommend this hotel!
The hotel has good facilities, rooms were adequate and clean, got a room with a good view to the pool. Check-in didn't take long, staff was friendly, breakfast was good for a 4 star hotel. Pooling area was not too crowded, no problem in finding a place, mostly families around, no issues with noise. It is ideally located in Lagos, a short 5m walk to town and 10m walk from Maria Luisa beach. There's a Spar around, plenty of restaurants.
The room had a wrap around balcony with incredible views across Lagos and was perfect for our last night in Portugal. The hotels facilities were incredible, from the amazing dinner at the Italian restaurant, to the lunch at the bar and hanging out in the comfy lounge area, and especially the outdoor swimming pool and spa facilities. The breakfast was OUT OF THIS WORLD, so much selection of special food and friendly staff.
The room was nice and big, pretty much as shown in the photos from the site. The hotel offers continental breakfast for free! The location is great, in the city centre of Lagos, you can go everywhere by foot! There are restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets all around! The train station is 15 minutes on foot and the marina, where you can book cruise trips, is at a distance of 10 minutes walking, which is convenient.
We loved everything! The location was excellent for exploring Lagos. Everything: the marina, the beach, shops, and restaurants was within easy reach. Our room was beautiful. The food offered by the hotel first class. And last, but far from least, all the ladies who looked after the reception area were super, super friendly and helpful. They really made our stay extra special and memorable.
Extremely well located, inside the walled old town. Good air-conditioning system. All the great restaurants from Lagos are a short walk away (5-15 mins walking). With only 3 floors, the hotel has very few guests at any given time, which feels like an authentic shared house. The orange juice from the breakfast was the best ever - extremely freshly squeezed!
Everyone at reception were very welcoming and had great recommendations for not just our stay in Lagos but also recommendations for other regions in Portugal. The hotel was a 5 min walking distance from a gem of a beach with a bar located on the beach. It was also walking distance from great restaurants in downtown Lagos. I would definitely return!
The hotel and rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern. The location is ideal if you’re planning to spend your time on the beach. The balconies are a nice touch so guests can take in the oceans views or spend some time in loungers on their private patios. It’s a 20 min walk up or down hill to get to Old Town or a cheap taxi ride ranging from €3-6.
I've never felt so welcomed in an accommodation before, even at 5 stars hotels. Nadia does the absolute best in order to make every guest at home. She was so lovely, helpful, kind and generous. The hostel is simple but full with little treats and so much thought regarding every single thing. I highly recommend, and really enjoyed my stay.
This unpretentious hotel is right on the main pedestrian street in Lagos (and appears to be the only hotel on this street). It is walking distance to the cliff walk, beaches, and the bus station. A simple breakfast is available for 5 Euro. The gentleman who runs the hotel is always available.
The staff was excellent! Jose is the best! 😎
The hotel is very nice and clean, rooms are big and the beds very comfortable, breakfast was delicious, the pool was perfect (salty water).
Praia Porto de Mos is like 6 minutes walking and is a very nice beach.
The best hotel in Lagos! 🥰
We have had the best time at Dom Manuel and Lagos in general.
Thank you to the wonderful staff who made our trip even better.
The hotel itself is exceptional
Thank you ❤️❤️
Really friendly, very good breakfast and perfect location in the Centre of Lagos.
The owners are lovely and always helpful. One of the best hotels we‘ve ever been.
