This hotel is situated off an upmarket street in Lisbon - lots of big brands to window shop! Between the hotel and the main road, there's a kind of park that runs the length of the avenue with bars and restaurants. One of the days there was a market and on another there was a large group of people salsa dancing! The location is very central and we mostly just walked where ever we were heading.

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

    Lisbon is a lovely city.

Lisbon is a lovely city. Beautiful, a lot of great places to explore, wonderful for sightseeing, and a safe city for travelers. However, you'll see thousands of vehicles everywhere. It can be a little challenge for people like me who live in a small town. But it's also nice. Some restaurants are unnecessary expensive. But, by buying warm food in supermarkets it would be quite possible to avoid such expenses if you wish.

    The trams are the best.

The trams are the best. On the other hand, it's just about the least multi-accessible city that I've ever visited, with horrendous flights of steps at Metro stations, especially unwelcome on the luggage-encumbered airport line. Hostile ticket-buying facilities.

Really easy to get around, we used the Metro and Bolt cars. Good walking shoes/trainers are a must. Parque Eduardo VII was amazing. We didn’t do any organised activities but managed to see all that we wanted. Find time to visit some museums, they were amazing and offered good food/refreshments so take your time.

Lisbon has some very pretty buildings and things to see. I loved the Tile Museum. We greatly enjoyed the arch and the Tower of Belem. Dinner on the river night after night was wonderful. However, I could have spent longer in Sintra rather than Lisbon.

Lisbon is a fantastic city, with a lot of options to see, visit, stay and eat. Wonderful sightseeing from both hills, a good public transportation network, where it's possible to buy a single ticket to use 3 types of transports, Metro, Bus and train (Old tram included).

You cannot spend just 5 days and see the highlights and wonderful architecture in Lisbon and hope to have enough time to try the local cuisine and shop. We did three different Hop-on Hop-off tours and one full day tour of the city and had so much more we wanted to see and experience. Lisbon is quite hilly, some strolls are tiring and take a bit longer ... there is always something amazing to see around the next corner, be it, a church built in the 1100s or a tiled building from the time of the Moors or little restaurant with amazing food tucked in between shops or a bakery with scrumptious pastries (sweet and savory). We found the Portuguese people very friendly and helpful. Try using Portuguese language skills no matter how poor - the locals love to hear you try and will help you get what you need or want. We concentrated in the area of Braixa but visited several other areas of the city .... next time we want to explore southern Portugal and eastern Portugal to gain an even better understanding of this lovely country.

Better and more friendly service than I've gotten in most 5 star hotels. Everyone from the front desk, to the bar tender, to the restaurant staff to the room cleaners - All of them were truly exceptional and friendly. The room itself was spacious, clean, and sexy. Bigger than the pictures make it seem. The restaurant food was also great, and make sure you catch a cabaret show while you are here. It is worth the money! Finally, it is located centrally, right next to metros, bars, and restaurants. You won't do better in Lisbon.

The hotel is well situated: 10 minutes from the airport (by taxi), bus stop in front of the hotel, 20 min walk from centre, restaurants and shops nearby. The room was very nice, big TV with many channels, spotless cleaning everyday. Breakfast was very good - pastry, eggs, cheese, ham, fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, cereals and good coffee. Man at the front office is very professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel is a very good choice for a pleasant stay in Lisbon. Thank you and wish you all the best!

If you’re looking for a 5 star hotel with free foot massage, jacuzzi and spritz aperol served in your room every evening, go elsewhere. If you need a simple, functional, clean and comfortable room with a lovely, caretaking landlady, in a house which maintains coolness inside despite hot weather and is located in a quite and nice neighbourhood of Lisbon (a few hundred meters away from the river, the tower of Belem and the Jeronimos monastery, all of this at a very reasonable price, this place is for you!

This hotel had everything I like: nice, stylish room, super comfy bed, up-to-date bathroom with fabulous shower and plenty of hot water, friendly and helpful staff, best gin and tonics in town at the bar, and marvelous food in the restaurant including one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever had. It was worth a lot more than I paid as travel isn’t quite back to normal yet. Also, convenient location to get anywhere in Lisbon. I took the train up the coast several days and it was easy.

Well, don’t want you, all readers, to get it wrong, but this class of hotels are not usually available in this applications. It’s the best hotel by far, that I have been in. It is what a 5 star hotel should be. Besides that It’s brand new, the staff at front desk are just pristine. I ordered what I thought just a regular breakfast with granola-maple syrup-bananas-dry fruit etc, and I just had a explosion of flavors in my mouth, the ingredients are the best quality and freshness.

Fantastic hotel. The staff is 5 stars, from the reception to the staff of the restaurant and bar. Breakfast is varied and has an egg menu, such as omelet and benedict. The room was comfortable and the bed fantastic. It has an indoor pool and spa. But the best part is the outdoor pool terrace with bar and a fantastic vertical garden. I recommend it and will come back.

The service throughout the hotel was 5 star excellent. The food in the Cervejaria Liberdade was AMAZING! The best sole I've ever eaten. We wanted to try more restaurants in Lisbon, but kept going there because it was so good. The SEEN bar has terrific views... but it's a "scene" and there is alot of smoking which kinda ruins it for me
