This is the best apartment we’ve ever stayed! 100% Recomended and we’ll return here for sure.
The apartment with 5 star conveniences had everything we need: starting from the bathrobes and slippers till the products for breakfast from the hosts as we arrived late. That was very sweet.
Peter and Zita are very nice and helpful. Thank you very much for the hospitality.
And the best part of the stay is the garden with amazing trees and landscape. The view to the green hill and birds singing, this is a paradise :)

The staff was very attentive and sincere. We had a delicious breakfast at the Resort daily. The beach was an integral part of a relaxing stay. Once you become accustomed to a round-about, you'll be fine driving. The city of Ribeira Grande is very walkable too.

Lots of hiking around, great beaches, nice local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Relatively good public transport to get around. Often cheaper to take taxi to get around than renting a car. In total we spent 4 weeks on the Azores and had a rental car for 4 days, this was one too much. Taxi is great for getting almost everywhere. Public transport is somehow good.

The town has some very interesting historical buildings, but it seems the economic turndown took a lot from its better days. Walking there at night was rather a Lovecraftian experience. It's safe, but it's just that there's not much to do there. But it's a small island and the town is right in its middle and it was very handy for the day trips visiting its different parts.

Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're...
Ribeira Grande is a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting São Miguel. It is located more central than Ponta Delgada while being only a 15 minute car ride away from the airport, so it's the perfect place from which to explore the entire island. An added bonus is that it's right next to the best beaches in São Miguel: most beaches on the island are rocky, the only true sandy beaches are next to Ribeira Grande. We went surfing twice at Santa Bárbara beach, only 10 minutes away from where we stayed in Ribeira Grande. The city itself is fairly small but quaint and has everything you need, including a pretty large supermarket (Continente), some cafes and restaurants, stores, even a laundromat. The only downside is that for vegans/vegetarians it's pretty hard to eat out, but that is true for almost all of the island except a few places in Ponta Delgada.
We loved many things about the Eco-Beach Resort. The help in the lobby and in the restaurant were engaging and polite. Their sustainability philosophy along with the design and materials used in the construction of the facilities was inviting. Breakfast was a meal we looked forward to every day. The fresh fruit and juices were excellent. There was no hesitation when we asked for something to be made a particular way to our liking.
The overall atmosphere of the setting was as beautiful as the beach adjacent to the property.
The host was so kind and helpful. We had our 1 year old with us and they provided a cot, high chair and baby bath for us. It was a great place to stay, very quiet although central to Ribeira Grande. There was a big supermarket a few minutes walk away so we did a lot of cooking in and the shared pool/garden was lovely, even with a washing machine for guest use. With the gates shut we felt very secure and it was lovely and private. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend.
The host was extremely kind and welcoming, showed me to the room, and walked me through the premises (i.e., the shared kitchen/living room, the location for breakfast). The breakfast was standard with some savory and typical breakfast granola and toast options. The room was delightful, spacious, clean, and the terrace gave a nice glimpse of the beach from the nearby fields. Parking was easy, as there's plenty of street parking right outside of the rooms.
Great view onto beach and sea.
Beautiful design of hotel.
Breakfast was very tasty but the menu didn't change. It was good for a short stay but would be too repetitive for a longer stay.
The hotel organised some great activities for us, including canyoning and whale watching although this took some communication as the experiences email address given on the hotel website is no longer in use (although still shown on the website).
- fantastic view from the spacious and modern room
- comfortable bed with different pillows
- great breakfast buffet with tables inside and on the terrace
- great spa area and treatments
- helpful and nice staff who made a reservation at an external restaurant for us
- great location with direct beach access (only 100m) and a supermarket (50m)
- big free parking lot
Great facilities, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Well laid out and lots of living room space too. ample on street parking available for free too and host was very responsive. Close by to town of Ribeira Grande and great base to explore the island to the East and West if you don’t want to be in Ponta Delgado. excellent value for money.
The hotel has a youthful atmosphere, friendly and smiling guests, responsive hosts. A beautiful red cat who tries to participate everywhere.
Close to the ocean, surfers' beach. In general, a quiet area, next to a pasture with horses.
Classic hotel breakfast - bread, eggs, jam, cheese, meat. Delicious coffee.
It was a wonderful stay. The place is by the river, a very quiet one-way road, while the center of Ribeira Grande is just around the corner. The house is furnished in local style and is super cute. We were extremely satisfied. Also, the owners always answered questions that arose quickly.
the hotel is kind of a mix between an bed n breakfast and a hotel.
The breakfasts were very good.
The rooms were quite comfortable and a good size.
The staff was friendly and attentive.
The location was excellent.
I highly recommend this property
Beautiful well-kept home in a quiet part of Ribeira Grande that was a perfect base for our travels around the island. João was a helpful and attentive host who always responded quickly to any questions and such a lovely person
Amazing hosts and lovely B&B atmosphere. They were welcoming, accommodating, and offered helpful insight into our different travel plans. We would highly recommend this location as a base to explore Azores!
Orlando the host is a very kind and available person.
The apartment we had is big, calm, functional and clean, very well situated in Ribeira Grande.
There is a common kitchen very well equipped.
Location near the center of Ribeira Grande. The host was willing to help fix issues we could meet and keen to pass on advices about our stay on Sao Miguel.
