Host went above and beyond for personal touches. I had mentioned we were there for my friend’s birthday and we went back out and came back to a wee tray with a card and 2 mini bottles of Prosecco and chocolates. My friend really appreciated that thought.

It needs you! Help Callander get back to a bustling tourist location. It is a place for all seasons.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.

Callander is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and walks. The fisheries are beautiful, plenty of benches to sit at and walks around it.
I had a fish supper from the Frying Dutchman which was superb, and the second night ate at The Riverside Inn which was equally as delicious. All very good prices.
The wine shops are lovely and little gifts shops and plenty of cafes.
The Crown Hotel is clean, modern and very central. We were in Callander to do some walking and there are loads of walks straight from the centre of town, didn’t use the car until the day we were leaving. The rooms are spotless and modern with Sky tv, which was great. The bar area is busy and very welcoming and the food is delicious. The breakfast was great, lots of choice and the staff were just lovely. Overall the staff at Crown Hotel are very friendly and welcoming.
The Family Room was absolutely beautiful and so much bigger then we were expecting! The shower was so fancy too, even had body jets!! The bathroom itself was all modern and nicely done. The tea/hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch as well. The location was excellent, 5 minutes from food and Icecream! We enjoyed the waterfall hike behind the hotel as well. Overall I would recommend this place, especially if they upgraded to more modern mattresses!
Breakfast excellent, and served to table by courteous and friendly staff. Room was large, secure and ideal. Bed was lovely and very comfortable ... Ideal! Everything was clean and tidy. Only a one night stay but will make this my first B&b search in the future whenever visiting Callander for a stay-over. Numerous nearby restaurants. Happy to recommend the Waverley Hotel for Dinner (a 10 minute walk away).
This was a splendid surprise during our journey through Scotland. A last minute change of plans forced us to book another room on our trip from Newcastle to Ullapool. The hotel surpassed all expectations, not the least because of the splendid library, conservatory etc. filled with magnificent books, very comfortable chairs, the fire-place... We certainly come back, for at least two nights.
The apartment is in a quiet alley right off the center of town. It is an extended attic including a seating area, kitchen, two bedrooms and two showers. It is very convenient and cozy. As a nice added touch, there were also board games, children's books, guidebooks and pamphlets (not advertisements), and the owners recommended bars with live music nearby.
Very Friendly and helpful Staff. Dinner was served in the bar area but, as its a sports bar type pub/hotel, my husband was delighted to be able to watch a football match while we ate. Curry was excellent. Breakfast was excellent, full Scottish and cooked just right. Room small but comfortable and we slept well. We would be happy stay again
The apartment was great! We were met on site by our host and had a full introduction to Callander! Lots of extras in the kitchen made the stay perfect (really enjoyed the gin and ale). We had a wonderful time discovering Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and topped it off with a visit to Stirling castle. Thank you!
A lovely traditional house - so quiet and peaceful. Close to the Roman Camp hotel where we enjoyed dinner and afternoon tea.
Our host was very welcoming and we enjoyed tea and cake in the garden on arrival.
Close to the Bracklinn Falls - well worth visiting.
The Abbotsford Lodge was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and modern. They just started serving dinner there which was a nice surprise because it was fabulous. Breakfasts were also very good. I would highly recommend the Abbotsford Lodge.
Cosy, quiet room which gave us a chance to relax for the evening after travelling around Scotland… and also to explore Callander. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. Muriel is a really lovely host with a good sense of humour!
Very nice stay, the room was clean and the bathroom very large. Had some difficulty to open the bathroom window, but the staff was helpful and sorted it out while we were having a walk. The hotel has its own car park. Recommended
Lovely small hotel close to all amenities in Callander. Our room was big and very tastefully decorated with four windows to give views all around. Spotless clean. The breakfast was 5 star. Very friendly staff too.
Fantastic location on the main street in Callander .We had a family room which was spacious and comfortable.Staff were lovely and breakfast coffee was the best I'd had that week.I would definitely book here again .
I've stayed here three times now. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and well appointed. Centre of town with a large car park up a side street. Food is delicious. Will be staying again 😃
