Cullen is a great base and highly recommended. We walked to Portknockie but also drove both east and west to investigate other coastal villages. Views were magnificent.
While walking we spoke to lots of lovely friendly people.
Cullen has some fabulous eating places whether it’s hotels or carry outs. A must is obviously Cullen Skink. We ate at Seafield Arms and Linda,s chip shop but there seems to be lots to choose from.
There were beautiful flowers both in gardens and along the walks. June was a lovely time to come even although the weather was unseasonably cold. Just bring layers. !

Cullen is a bustling village with cafes, mini-market, 3 pubs etc. The one nearest to the property is "The Royal Oak" which serves excellent meals all day. Try the Cullen Skink' many will know of it, just as many will not so for those, it is a haddock (I think) based soup with potatoes --- superb. In Cullen ,Linda's fish and chips are 11/10 and the Ice cream shop gets the same rating Outstanding sandy beaches and lovely walks long short or whatever you want to make of them and paddle boards in the harbour the list of amenities seems endless.

Great beach and lovely golf course.
Great beach and lovely golf course. Be careful to choose the correct accommodation for your needs and avoid being near the main road due to road noise. Would definitely recommend a trip and look forward to returning albeit In different accommodation.

The hotel had a high standard of cleanliness and facilities.
The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable , the staff had been well trained , especially the bar manageress and the receptionists who were wonderful
The food was terrific. My wife’s Gluten and Dairy intolerance was brilliantly managed
The venison on the menu was superb
A good item was a bathroom single light that stayed on so the other person was not disturbed.
My wife was at a conference at the hotel on the Saturday which the food was Taylor’s for everybody’s needs -
A wonderful cottage in quaint village by the beautiful Cullen harbour and beach. The house was ideal for our needs and at 2min walk from the beach was in a great location with lovely neighbours and delightfully quiet. There is a little patio at the back of the house which was a suntrap from mid morning but we never used it as we were out sight seeing for most of the days although we had brilliant weather for our whole stay. The house is well set up,spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A great place to stay in Seatown.
This was a return visit to the hotel, having been several times previously, but after many years. There had been much new building, extensions and changes since. The restaurants both served good food which we enjoyed. We didn't pay extra to eat breakfast there, as I felt we were paying enough for just the room. A comfortable bed, although it didn't seem like the king size we had expected. Nice modern shower room and windows you could open for fresh air.
would highly recommend, the house was fantastically equipped for a group of our size. The beds were soo comfy, and the first time ever I have come across a travel cot with an additional mattress, little ones were all catered for so much and excellent for the dog too! Not to mention a fantastic welcome tray of goodies 😊Thanks again, hopefully we will return in a sumner month and get to explore Cullen and surround more x
A perfect location. Great views of Cullen Bay, the viaduct and the harbour, close to local amenities - co-op not far away, warm and cosy, everything we needed in our holiday home. Games and books for evening entertainment. We were able to park close by to the property. Enjoyed visiting the costal villages. There are 2 viewing windows at Deans factory in Huntly if you like crumbly shortbread.
From our arrival, the staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Dinner was superb and the service was incredibly efficient. We didn't have time for a full breakfast, due to work commitments, but what we had was top quality. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel - for work or for pleasure - and will definitely be back.
Thank you to Brenda and the team.
The design of the room and overall hotel was really nice. Shower had really great water pressure and hot water! The receptionist was super helpful and friendly. I only ate at the hotel one evening, but it was great. Lots of food and very tasty. Parking in the nearby city lot is free and convenient. Overall, enjoyed my stay and would come back.
Beautiful location in northern Scotland. Easy walk to the beach and close drive to Elgin, Lossiemouth, whisky tours and several local walks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. We stopped for two nights on a drive around the NE of Scotland and were very pleased. Would definitely stay again.
My family and I had a wonderful stay in Cullen. This is a gorgeous seaside town, and an excellent base to exlore the surrounding area.
The cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean, well equipped and maintained. The beds were all super comfortable.
We contacted the owners with a query,, they were quick and friendly in their reply.
Spacious room, comfortable bed, big telly.
Layout was a bit strange as couch was side on to TV and no other chairs in the room. Old style hotel, gaps around the door and downstairs lobby floor very uneven so not posh but absolutely adequate for us and had a nice stay. Service from the lady was very nice.
Cullen is a beautiful coastal town. Stravaig is on the main road but really quiet. Paula is an exceptional host and breakfast is superb. It’s situated between an ice cream shop (home made) scrumptious and an award winning fish and chip shop. This was our first visit to Cullen but won’t be our last,
Stunning location overlooking Cullen bay/Golf Course. We had the Turret room which was spacious and comfortable and had a beautiful corner bay window with best view in hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful and both meals we had were great. Very tasty Cullen Skink. 👌
The view from our room was fantastic. The evening staff went out of their way to take care of our late, last minute requests. The location was perfect for covering a lot of the Northern Scotland area.
Very well situated in cullen .places to eat a d visit right on the doorstep .The upper flat was beautifully put together .everything was so clean .A big bonus was ,dog friendly .super recommended.
