Whitby is our favourite place & we go several times a year. There are some lovely eating places, bars & coffee shops {the flat white coffee in Coopers is the best). Getting around is slightly difficult for me as I am in a wheelchair so we just have to plan our days but apart from that its great.

Beautiful seaside town. Sandy beach. North Yorkshire Moors railway, fish and chips to die for. Lovely shops and town famous for Dracula weekend.
Beautiful parks,pubs, restaurants and shops.
A bit hilly so not for those with walking problems but there are cabs a plenty to get you to where you stay.
And of course film locations for TV show Heartbeat. James Cook museum and Whitby museums well worth a visit

Whitby is a place that goes back in time.
Whitby is a place that goes back in time. Lovely town with lots of little shops, cafes and pubs. Lots of boats and boat trips at reasonable prices. Lovely church and Abbey at the top of the 199 steps. Lots to do for young and older alike.

We absolutely loved Whitby - there is plenty to do even if It gets rainy with children - crabbing and lots of museums - we literally could of stayed longer than three days - you can day visit easily Robin Hoods bay or a coastal walk which is stunning. We found the fisherman’s wife to be a great place to eat it was quality produce. Don’t eat fish and chips before you go as
It’s full of those ha ha - we wanted different food and that was a little harder to find but we did -

Amazing Seaside Town full of history and charm.
Amazing Seaside Town full of history and charm. The Abbey is stunning, although overpriced (£39 for 2 adults and 1 child). I would highly recommend The Singing Kettle for breakfast. The best English Breakfast I have ever had!

Whitby was a pleasant surprise!
Whitby was a pleasant surprise! A quirky town, with plenty to see and do and a great place where to hike from. Over the bank holidays the town gets very, very busy so better visit during the off- peak season.
Breakfast was lovely there was plenty of choice , everything was fresh a cooked lovely , also various options and refills of tea and coffee , the service was first class , our room was amazing , the bed very comfortable, beautiful bath and shower facilities, everywhere very clean with fantastic attention to detail , within walking distant of whitby harbour or park n ride 5 mins away , the surrounding grounds have lovely views , lovely staff very attentive ,with welcoming and easy booking in and out of hotel
La Rosa Hotel is a unique, wonderful little place with lovely staff and really fantastic views of Whitby bay.
The breakfast is a great touch and I recommend the bloody Mary!
The one thing I'd suggest to people is to bring a multi usb plug, as with all older properties the plug sockets are limited, but we always bring one for charging phones, etc. The room was so unique it really didn't matter.
The Dolphin Hotel was very good. It
enjoys a great location to all Whitby town so we had no need for a car.
Super clean rooms, some with see views (not ours). A good English breakfast wa served in the dining area with a great view of the harbour so made up for the lack of room view.
Good hot shower, clean towels with soap / shower gel dispensers.
Mini kettle for tea and coffee making.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours.
Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks).
Restaurant/cafe easily accessible.
Rooms had gorgeous views.
Fan & hairdryer provided in room.
The location is brilliant, only a ten minute walk into Robin Hood's Bay. The hotel is on a good bus route with buses every 30 minutes into Whitby and Scarborough. The breakfast is very good with locally sought produce. Good choice on the menu. The bar food is very good also, serving meals till 9.00pm. The staff are lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The location, setting and facilities were superb. The only thing lacking at this hotel is that we found that the food was quite 'hit and miss' for the price range (undercooked/overcooked items at dinner, breakfast buffet and hot food could be much improved).
The pool and spa facilities are great and the setting in unbeatable however.
The location was very good where we were.
Just 5 minutes walk into Whitby
We managed to get a carparking space.
Which was a bonus.
Checking in and out was very good.
The staff are very friendly and very helpful and kind.
The hotel is very old but lovely at the same time
The breakfast was very nice.
Loved the hotel as always. Great room (205). Felt very spacious with a good view. Lots of tea and coffee etc in room. We will definitely go back. Good breakfast and dinner in the evening was lovely. Very friendly staff especially the lady who served us drinks in the evening at our table.
Probably the quirkiest location we’ve ever stayed in, absolutely fabulous. Even though you’re smack bang in the middle of the harbour it still felt really tranquil. From the outside it doesn’t look big, but the layout inside is well conceived and feels roomy. Just a lovely space.
The accommodation was excellent, very clean and stylish, love the 4 floors, kitchen was very modern with everything you needed, bedrooms were all very spacious and well thought out, as was the 2 bathrooms.
The location was spot on, only a 5 minute walk down to the harbour.
Lovely little hotel in an ideal location- walking distance of Whitby harbour. We parked on the road outside and were given a scratch card to ensure free parking throughout our stay as the hotel car park was full.
Helpful and friendly staff that are very welcoming!

The Resolution Hotel is where to go for a Whitby break. The location is 5 minutes into the town Centre.

Fantastic staff and rooms with Views of the famous Abbey.
It was a self-catering, two-bedroom flat in a secure building within a few minutes' walking distance of Whitby town centre and harbour. The flat came with an underground parking space for the car.
