Lovely stay in a lovely place with a lovely host :-) Stamatia gave us good tips, helped us when needed and easily arranged a car rental for us. Room was perfectly cleaned everyday and we just felt at home ! Really cool bathroom.
The house itself is not right in the center of katapola, but easily accessible by walk.
Within 200 metres from the sandy Katapola Beach in Amorgos, Villa Le Grand Blue features air-conditioned accommodation with a sea-view balcony or patio.

Our top floor Deluxe Suite with terrace and a sea view was perfect for our 6 nights on Amorgos. A good double bed, kitchen with hot plate, a sandwich toaster, fridge, electric jug and a coffee maker. Air conditioning in the bedroom, wardrobe, safe, side table, TV and a compact bathroom with a great shower. Our room was serviced & had the bins emptied daily which was a nice touch and the bed changed after 3 nights. Out side our private terrace had views directly over the bay, a large sun bed, small table & 2 chairs & a clothes drying rack. Plenty of space outside to relax. The port less than a minute away as is the supermarket. The bus station is a 5 - 6 minutes walk - check the timetable (buy the tickets on the bus).
Surrounded by a garden, the Cycladic-style Castelopetra is just 2 km from Katapola Port and 4 km from Amorgos Chora. It offers air-conditioned studios with free WiFi and panoramic Aegean Sea views.

Very friendly staff - welcoming and helpful. Amazing view from the balcony - worth the stay alone. WiFi was good - I worked with no problems. Comfy beds, good and quiet WiFi, parking right outside, basic kitchen facilities.
Situated 150 metres from the port and beach of Katapola, the family-run Pension Galini offers air-conditioned accommodation with free Wi-Fi. The picturesque main town of Amorgos is at 5 km.

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago
With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches
( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

Nice atmosphere at night, lots of bars and restaurants, and yet a quieter atmosphere compared to other busy Islands. I enjoyed having dinner at Youkali, in Katapola, and the stunning landscape of the island.
Location is very well connected by bus with other places of the island, however, in the late afternoon you might need to take a taxi. Convenient as we arrived by boat from Naxos and wanted to drop off luggages, get a shower and go out to explore the island. Don’t miss the monastery with the view over the grand blue beach, the village of Chora and walking around in Aegiali. You can also do some hiking between traditional villages.
Lovely cosy, clean, well furnished room, the best bathroom we've had in Greece so far. Nice to have a proper shower with screen although still.hand held shower head.
Comfy beds, nice linen. Great quiet area and lovely little garden area, coukd hear cockerels felt rural. 5 min walk to the port. Ignore mosns about steps, there's a handful then you go along a flat path. No problem walking there at all unless you've a disability. Amorgos and Katapola are lovely and we had a great stay and would return. Very relaxing.
The proprietors were very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a great balcony overlooking town and the harbor, and it appeared that all the rooms have this. Just a couple blocks walk down to the waterfront, the ferry dock, and the restaurants and shops of Katapola. Christos and Anna even hosted us and the other guests for a wonderful Easter meal on his patio with his family. Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever fortunate enough to return to Amorgos.
The Big Blue Pension in located in the middle of the island, so is very easy to reach every place, from north to south. The room was clean with a beatiful view on the Katapola port. At 1 minute to foot there are meny restaurants, market, bakery and so on. On the stairs to arrive to the Pension, on the right there is a very very nice botanic garden where i drunk a Special Greek Spritz 😊. Finally, Mr Funnies is very nice and friendly person. Recommended.
The room we stayed in was new with beautiful decor. The room and bathroom were spacious so there was plenty of room for 3 of us with 3 large cases. The balcony had a sea view and the atmosphere was peaceful. It was so convenient as Thomas’s is smack in the middle of Katapola. Angie was very helpful upon our arrival and the rooms would be cleaned every day if you wanted that - which we didn’t. I could not fault the place and would highly recommend it.
We loved everything about our stay at Amorgion Hotel! The staff were extremely welcoming and kind, and we loved getting to know Konstantinos! The breakfast each morning was delicious and the room was perfect. The hotel has such a relaxing feel, which was exactly what we were looking for. The central location was also great, as it allowed us to explore the whole island. We can’t imagine ever staying anywhere else and cannot wait to come back!
The room was spatious, clean and very comfortable. The highlight was the big balcony with a magnificent view over the bay of Katapola. It takes a little bit of work to get up to the apartment, especially with the heavy piece of luggage we had. Something to consider in advance.
Antonis is a very helpful and generous host. He accommodated us with everything we needed and even brought us big pieces of delicious cake every day.
The staff is exceptional: Dorina, Vangelis, Elena & Antreas, thank you so much for making our stay unforgettable. Dorina’s home made food is exquisite and Elena’s service during breakfast is excellent. Antreas, the hotel manager (or « consigliere » as I called him during our stay), is just so accommodating. He is everywhere, making sure all is perfect. What a great team, we will see you all in the near future for sure!
Ideal location by the sea, next to all points of interest in Katapola and the owner was always ready to assist with any queries we might have had. This large, independent suite is fully equipped and decorated to a 5-star hotel level. We completely agree with all the previous positive comments which have been submitted and we look forward to a next visit for more days this time!
Giannis did everything to make us feel like we were visiting a friend. We were warmly welcomed (thanks again for the welcome and farewell gifts <3) and provided amazing suggestions and tips about the island. He was right as we found something special about Amorgos. We will definitely come back again and stay at Giannis'. Thanks again for your kindness and benevolence !
Stay here- hard stop. Amazing espresso, bakery, location, caring innkeepers. This is a 10/10 in the islands and will be bringing people here when we are back next summer - which, btw, was not on our usual annual itinerary but after this is will forever be. Lovely square in town, fun and kind locals- adults and kids alike- we will be back. Wow Amorgos, wow. 💛😁
Amorgion Hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Amorgos. A special thanks to the team running the hotel. Konstantinos is a great host: he embodies hospitality, provides all kinds of information (in several languages) and looks after every detail. The breakfast is excellent and the complimentary transfer from and to the port is really appreciated.
Great place with an amazing terrace over Katapola and some Rakomelo to enjoy.
Very clean & comfy studio with all utilities you need. Finally, breakfast will suit all tastes to start the day ... once again with a great view over Katapola bay.
Perfect communication from the manager Antreas with good advices about the island.
- Location close to Chora. 5 min distance with car.
- Spacious room and balcony with great view of Katapola port.
- Beach Umbrella provided with room (not sure if it's standard with all rooms but was a great addition)
- Beach towels also provided which was great.
- There was daily cleaning.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and the staff was awesome!! Nikita who works for the hotel went above and beyond in every regard to help us and make us comfortable!! We would stay there again without hesitation. Also, Great location too in the heart of Katapola.
Katapola is very nice place to spend time and very close to the Chora. Gialos Studios is at a very quite location with 5-6 min walk to the port. The house is very new and comfortable and the host is very helpful
The location of the Hotel is great, the room was also lovely. Giannis is also a great host with lots of recommendations on what to do and how to get around Amorgos, he made us feel very welcome in the Island.
INCREDIBLE property … beautiful, new, clean, nicest place in amorgos. Most kind hosts, very accommodating, very helpful, overall one of the best experiences I’ve had abroad in Greece.
Great location- room was very big with plenty of space- huge balcony overlooking the port in Katapola. Venetia was the host and she was very accommodating. Thank you Venetia.
The staff were lovely - came to meet us off the boat. The view is amazing. Katapola was our favourite town on the island. We had a cleaner come nearly every day as well.
