The location of Sanapiro Hotel is fabulous. It is in the city centre, close to the main sights, for example the incredible food market. Our room had a terrace facing Rioni river, with spectacular views. The staff was very helpful and friendly, they organized our transfer from and to the airport. It was a pity we could stay for only one night, but our travel schedule did not allow us more. As we had to leave very early the morning after, the staff was kind enough to prepare a pack with food for the journey.

Very exciting little town with an authentic charm. The food and the wine are exquisite wherever you go, people are friendly and hospitable. I will return for sure to hike more around and eat more khachapuri and khinkali.

To be honest-it' just for hardcore travellers or backpackers yet. It's not an easy destination, they still need to improve in many ways. The people are very kind - but they are poor. There is rubbish everywhere - Sad to see it. But they are working on it, more and more attracions open every year for you to discover. The mountains are beautyful. If you don't expect too much, please support Georgia with your travel and money.

Great place especially the bridge & restaurants by the river .. 160 km away Uplistsikhe Cave Town is a must if travelling between TBILISI & KUTAISI. Food and restaurants are excellent in both. Ambience is great.

The city is nice, but to be honest after time I regret that we did not went first to Batumi or Tibilisi. For me personally, this city is good but for 1 or max. 2 days of sightseeing, after more time I would get bored. The city is very old, sometimes you can feel that it is still not so adapted to the tourism. Nice place for people that are facinated about history and old buildings. Maybe in the summer it has more to offer. We went in March when there was nothing much to do.

To see:
To see:
Prometheus Cave (it is not as touristy as the negative reviews I read, and most of the caves are lit by white light with some colored lights so you see the natural rock colors - it is awesome, the size and formations)
Motsameta Monastery (beautiful, small, on a mountain with a frescoed church and views of more of the Caucasus and river...I heard Gelati is great too but did not see it)
Bagrati's Cathedral and the surrounding ruins, including kvevrebi (clay wine jars in the ground)
Kutaisi Botanical Garden (Bagrati is on the way to this, depending on where you stay), 5 lari admission fee (bring small bills - I found out not everyone has change for 100 lari)...beautiful and with an Orthodox shrine in a tree!
Bukioti (small, colorful cafe with cacao and of course coffee, tea, hot chocolate, as well as achma (a type of khachapuri made with puff pastry) and the best desserts (lava cake, apple dessert which is an air-fried apple filled with nuts and raisins, both topped with vanilla ice cream, and others)
El Paso restaurant - good khinkali
Kolkha Fountain that is in the city center (gold-toned animals with 2 horses on top and a lit in different colors at night)

Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people.
Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people. The food was amazing. We went during the winter so the snow was great and everything was running smoothly. Most of the places to visit are at most 1 hour away. Would recommend to go with the local tour guide rather than driving yourself just because the streets and signals are not clear for a foreigner. Food and ticket entries are very affordable. For a trip for a family of 5 people, we did not waste more than 1000 euros
very nice and cozy family owned/ operated hotel in Kutaisi.
it is a small but wonderful house where the owner Thames personally care of you . they are very helpful in everything you need. rooms are comfortable and very clean, on demand you can have room service every day. breakfast is tasty , and every day different , prepared directly for you. pick up from the airport is offered and I was very grateful for. thank you very much for making the journey so wonderful! keep going in doing what you do and how you do ! thank you 😀
The location is perfect, the whole city can be seen. The staff were very friendly and even showed us the way to the city by walking with us outside the hotel. The breakfast was quite rich, with tons of variety prepared just for us on our table. The rooms are very clean and fully equipped with the typical hotel stuff. Stayed only a night, and I'd be happy to come back to the place. I'm sure I'll be booking the same hotel next time I visit Kutaisi.
Great location if you want to be close to the airport. The hotel is very authentic and cozy, and the room has everything you need. Host Andrew was very helpful—he picked us up from the bus station, drove us to the city center, and brought us back to the hotel. He also treated us to a glass of wine. We had a very early flight at 6:40, so Andrew took us to the airport at 5 am (transfer cost - 10 EUR). We felt well taken care of.
Location was amazing, and something like 30 minutes to Kutaisi airport. The hotel rooms were comfortable, clean and cozy. The view from the balcony was amazing and the warm summer evening is worth spending on a balcony, no need to go somewhere else. Also Very comfortable place stay if you want to visit sightseeing places and you are staying for example 3hour ride from Kutaisi, but dont want to go back late in the evening.
I didn’t expect the hotel comparing with the price! First let us not say Hotel! It’s a motel!! It’s like you’re in relative’s home! If we come back late we need to wait till someone opens for us! They did not clean the room when we were out !! The breakfast is so poor! Only 2 staff and they don’t speak English !!! Rooms quite small !! I don’t recommend and won’t come back if I visit Kutaisi again
We loved staying here. Location is the best thing about this hotel, this is the area where you want to be in when visiting Kutaisi. It's a family hotel so you get to see them going about their normal day and always greeting and smiling when they see guests. Vlad was very helpful and offered to take us to the airport for a really good price. We will for sure stay here again.
Everything was very good. We asked even for an airport pickup what the hotel owner helped us with for additional cost. Cozy location, decorated in local style, very beautiful. Very good breakfast, beyond our expectations. The owner Zaza has helped us to get a ride to Batumi next day. We have been happy to stay here and definetely be back next time we are in Kutaisi
The owner was super helpful, ready to fulfill all our requests and needs: be it minor like borrowing a corkscrew, or major, like last minute rescheduling of transfer to the airport in the middle of the night.
The hotel is located on a hill, next to Bagrati Cathedral, which provides stunning view on the town and the mountains.
This hostel is highly recommended. David, the owner, is super friendly and help you with everything. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and spotless. Also it's close to the bus station (the best way to move around Georgia is by bus) and close to the airport. I will come back ;)
Affordable hotel, decent minimalistic rooms, ideal if you're travelling to/from Kutaisi airport.
The best things about the hotel were:
A) Russian guy working at the reception was very friendly
B) Breakfast was very generous and filling, good selection of tea and coffee
The hospitality and communication was perfect. We had a short stay but we've got a lot of positive emotions!:)
Our room was very clean and cozy.
Location is perfect - the beautiful city-center of Kutaisi!
Highly recommend the hotel!
…good location, few minutes walk to the center
…Georgian breakfast experience
…great services, like airport transfer and car rental
…warm welcome by the hosts, always open for advice and tips what to see and do in and around Kutaisi
Hotel Sanapiro is well located in Kutaisi along the river. A room with a riverside balcony is a must! It's a luxurious hotel. Everything is clean, breakfast is continental style. Staff goes above and beyond with all requests.
Short drive from Kutaisi airport, good location, large bed, nicely furnished. Breakfast was alright, it can be also served on a rooftop terase. Just 3-4 parking places in front of if the hotel, so it could be tricky.
The Hotel was right beside the Kutaisi Amusement Park with cable car will take you right into the town center. Park around was the best thing my daughter liked in this entire trip. Facilities are all good.
property is only 15 mints away from the airport and it serves the purpose of transit .
Hotel can arrange airport transfer and it will cost 30 GEL.
we have been greeted by Nika and he was supper helpful.
Extremely clean, modern and well equipped rooms
Very good breakfast
Helpful staff and great service
Free Parking
