The property had an amazing location right on the water and was located just outside of the main town. I was traveling solo so this was the perfect size for me. The staff were also very kind and helpful me book tours.

At first Casa da Ilha seemed to be a quiet countryside house with all of the modern amenities. The property itself is very good and the host Rui was excellent plus went out of his way to make us feel welcome. It is across the road from well-known vineyards and a short drive from the windmill and town centre.

The host was extremely friendly and happy to help, and the location was really good, as it was just a couple of minutes drive away from the main city of Madalena. It also had a supermarket and restaurant nearby, as well as local points of interest (Piscinas Naturas da Criação Velha). The place was also extremely spacious - especially for just a couple - with a fully-equipped kitchen, and a very comfy bed.

The entire experience from the first to the last minute was absolutely incredible. The house is beautiful and with a super cosy decor. Not to mention the huge garden that brings us peace and takes us into the middle of nature (you can even relax in a hammock!!). During our stay, we had a 30th anniversary and the accommodation offered us a (huge) cake and sparkling wine. All these treats make a difference and raise our expectations compared to other places. Carolina (Reservation Manager) is lovely, super available and made us "feel at home"

Super Host definitely. He came to pick us up at the ferry terminal. Very nice guy full of funny and interesting stories about the history of the Azores and his life. The Adega is beautifully renovated, fully equipped with top views on the UNESCO vineyard, Vulcan and the sea when you have the chance to see Pico with no clouds. Piscina natural close by and the city center is about 25mn walking along the sea. Communication with him was perfect with excellent recommendation on restaurants and wines. Definitely have to come back to do his wine tour which looked really interesting. He kept our luggages during the day and met us directly at the ferry with them which was a really nice touch. We absolutely loved our stay in this little house. Thanks again

The view from the front door was an impressive view of Pico mountain. The location was great. It was close to swimming and the town of Madalena, and quiet. Lots of good restaurants and easy to get around. Shopping for groceries was convenient, as was using this location as a starting point to visit Pico.

Lovely place with friendly and helpful hosts. The property is super clean, and the welcome basket with local products at check-in is a lovely surprise. The pool is great too :-). The vineyards (including windmill) are just around the corner and make for a lovely morning or evening walk down to the sea.
