Clifton
1 miles from city centre
A class apart. Clifton is an upmarket bubble of Georgian housing, lush parks and cutesy antique dealers. Pick up retro home-ware from Abode, seek out shiny bangles in Bees & Graves and go vintage at Clifton Vintage Boutique. Sink a pint in style at the White Lion, whose terrace looks out over the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Harbourside
0.6 miles from city centre
Harbourside is a classic case of docklands-turned-trendy hotspot. Once upon a time, it was the beating heart of Bristol’s tobacco industry, but these days it’s home to hip eateries, funky museums and rocketing real estate. Trawl through Bristolian history at M-Shed Museum, gasp at the SS Great Britain and take a river cruise aboard the Matthew.

Broadmead
0.5 miles from city centre
Shopaholics flock to Broadmead. This district echoes with the “ker-ching” of cash registers, as bag-laden visitors pick up high-street fashion at H&M and TK Maxx, and spruce up their wardrobes at Thomas Pink and The White Company. In need of a breather? Rest your weary legs on the lawns of grassy Castle Park. Get your wallet ready!

Bristol Old City
In the city centre
The Old City packs a lot into a small area. These cobbled streets ooze history – take a heritage tour to learn about what the Normans did for Bristol a millennium ago. Grab a bargain at St Nicholas Market, and sip a spot of scrumpy in Bristol Cider Shop. Cap it off with dinner aboard a boat, at The Glassboat or Three Brothers Burger restaurants.

Old Market
0.7 miles from city centre
A Bohemian air blows through Old Market. Kooky independent shops like J’s Unique Boutique or Global Collectables line the area’s well-preserved streets. This district’s home to some of the city’s oldest buildings, like St Jude’s Church and Palace Hotel. If you like your nightlife free and fab, flounce down to West Street.

Temple
0.3 miles from city centre
Knights of the boardroom table. Temple takes its name from the Temple Church, built by the Knights Templar in the 12th century. Today you’re more likely to see pin-stripe suits than suits of armour – the area’s been invaded by swanky law firms and zingy start-ups. Mosey along to Yurt Lush for a hipster lunch inside a shipping container.
Places to stay from £43 per night
Straddling both sides of the River Avon and laying claim to being one of England’s largest cities, Bristol is not short of things to see and do. Bristol is brimming with things to do, from a wealth of art collectives and street art to exploring the SS Great Britain and the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Don’t miss a chance to see Banky’s famous graffiti.
Bristol's nightlife is legendary – this is a place where vast warehouse clubs hosting some of the world’s most famous DJs go hand in hand with glamorous speakeasies and fun, quirky bars. If you’re looking to dance to techno, house and jungle, make for Lakota, or for a chance to throw some shapes in a former police station, book a night at The Island. There are also plenty of breweries dotted around the city as well as a thriving LGBTQ+ scene.
If you’re looking to escape Bristol’s city centre for a day or two, there’s plenty to keep you occupied just a stone’s throw away. The waterways of the city docks offer ample opportunities for stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing, and you can climb to your heart’s content in the stunning Avon Gorge National Nature Reserve. For cyclists, head to the Bristol and Bath Railway Path which offers over 13 miles of picturesque cycle trails.

Clifton is a nice part of Bristol, lots of trendy cafes and bars. The Clifton Catholic Cathedral is well worth a visit - Brutalist in design but with fantastic stained glass built in the same era as Liverpool RC one, again in the round.
I liked the shopping in Bristol and the people were friendly.

I liked the shopping in Bristol and the people were friendly. There are so many parts of Bristol that you would need a few days to see it all. And of course its home to Banksy, which I managed to see. There is a lot of Graffiti Art, which is amazing, but there is a lot of 'normal' graffiti which is an eyesore. The Clean Air Zones are expensive if your only visiting, £27 for two and a bit days, If you went for a week it would a lot to your break, for nothing in return. And there seems to be a lot of Traffic lights and roundabouts lol
Bristol is a great little city.

Bristol is a great little city. Nice to see some of the UK outside of London. Very close to Bath, Cardiff, and other interesting places to see. We stayed in Clifton which is a very charming little village just above the city center and very easy to get to. Parking is a bit of a challenge but we managed to figure it out quite quickly.

Bristol is a place with a lot of history & the S.S. Great Britain ship is well worth visiting. Clifton Bridge & its surrounding area is worth visiting too. Bristol though is the graffiti capital of Europe - sadly most of it has little artistic value and the city is definitively car unfriendly with so many road restrictions and cameras everywhere.
We found Bristol a very friendly city.

We found Bristol a very friendly city. Everyone smiled. Loved the market at ST Nicholas well outside stalls inside too much for me. Plenty of coffee shops and even more restaurants no shortage of cocktail bars. Over all a lovely city will be back i promise.
