Downtown Miami
In the city centre
Before asking what you can do downtown, ask what downtown can do for you. Downward dog your way through a free yoga class in Bayfront Park. Drop by a farmer’s market and peel back the skin on one of the world’s juiciest oranges. Catch a concert at the AmericanAirlines Arena, or practice your Spanglish by ordering a taste bud-slaying Cuban.

Coconut Grove
4 miles from city centre
Coconut Grove: the name conjures images of afternoons laying in a hammock, sipping juice beneath the palms. Sounds nice, right? Add a heap of University of Miami students, a dash of laidback artists, a sprinkle of Florida-fresh markets, some banyan trees and you’ve nailed it! Head to LoKal and try the sinful combo of a burger between two donuts.

Coral Gables
4.9 miles from city centre
Coral Gables is what happens when “cosmopolitan” collides with “casual” living. This must-live area for wealthy Miamians brims with gourmet Palm d’Or and glittery nightlife, plus the luxurious Venetian Pool. Miracle Mile is a palm-filled pedestrian walk edged with hundreds of specialty shops, art galleries, and teeny boutiques. When can we move in?

Brickell
0.6 miles from city centre
Brickell is Miami’s only district where the ties outsell the swim trunks. The office scene is one of breezy-board meetings, where high rollers in pin-striped suits sip one too many cups of espresso. After hours, follow the 9-5ers to happy hour at Blue Martini Bar and imbibe on your choice of martini, served with a side of swanky vibes.

Miami Springs
6.3 miles from city centre
The 9th hole called and it wants its balls back. But there’s more to Miami Springs than teeing off. It’s an easy drive to the 1001+ beach escapes that put this city on the map. After a day seaside, unlock your inner foodie, and take your taste buds on a flavour-ride of empanadas, fried plantains, or tres leches in Miami’s lauded Caribbean restaurants.

Situated on Florida’s south-east coastline, Miami is one of the United States’ most established cultural hotspots. Renowned for its white-sand beaches, art deco establishments and thriving Cuban district, the city combines both US and Latin influence to offer a truly unique American experience.
Once home to the Tequesta tribe, Miami’s colonial years saw the region shift between both British and Spanish governance before modern Miami was founded in 1896. Then known as ‘Biscayne Bay Country’, the city’s founder, a citrus grower by the name of Julia Tuttle welcomed foreign immigration, leading to Miami’s large Cuban and Caribbean diaspora that has shaped much of the city’s modern culture and lifestyle.
If you’re going to do one thing while in Miami, make sure you visit South Beach – an area home to beautiful restaurants and art deco buildings. All your shopping needs are covered at the Aventura Mall, Design district, Bayside MarketPlace and Wynwood, while you’ll find world-renowned super clubs in Downtown Miami. For history, visit the Vizcaya Museum and for nature, take a day-tour to Florida’s Everglades National Park.
While Miami provides all the traditional American food staples, some of its best can be found in the Cuban district, where you’ll find bars serving ice-cold margaritas and seafood restaurants like the famous La Camaronera. The search for Miami's best key lime pie is ongoing, but nobody makes it fresher than Joe’s Stone Crab, located in Miami Beach.

Miami has a vibrant cultural scene, beautiful beaches, and lively nightlife. Areas to visit are South Beach, the colorful Art Deco District and the eclectic street art of Wynwood Walls. I enjoyed the rich cultural tapestry of Little Havana, savoring authentic Cuban cuisine and lively ambiance.

During my time in Miami, I soaked up the sun on the beautiful beaches, enjoying the soft sand and refreshing ocean breeze. The lively beach scene with beachfront cafes and water sports added to the excitement. Venturing into Everglades National Park was like stepping into a different world. The vast marshlands, mangrove forests, and abundant wildlife offered a glimpse into the natural wonders of Florida. I took a thrilling airboat tour, spotting alligators, birds, and other fascinating creatures along the way. Exploring Miami's diverse culture, from its vibrant art scene to its delicious culinary offerings, was a delightful experience. The city's energy, combined with the tranquility of the Everglades, made for a memorable and balanced trip.
Our expectations of Miami were high so we were disappointed.
20 April 2024
Our expectations of Miami were high so we were disappointed. We did a bus and boat tour which were interesting. Overall, sadly we were underwhelmed by Miami. This was a road trip so after 2 nights we then went onto explore Florida and discovered some wonderful places outside of Miami.
the area around the airport is constantly congested.
19 April 2024
the area around the airport is constantly congested. If you are there for business it is okay, but going anywhere for a few miles takes you over 30 minutes. Try to stay right outside the airport area. Be careful when driving through the area, people are changing lanes without indicators and just weaving in and out. And brush up on your Spanish, no body will address you in English. The area around the beaches are nice, but do not go with your car, there is never enough parking. Just 10 to 15 minutes away, things are a lot more organized.
The fastest check in experience to date.
18 April 2024
The fastest check in experience to date. Great customer service. The only negative is the bathroom sink hot water pressure was low. Everything else was amazing. I will be coming back to Eurstars to stay in Miami.
We did not do any tourist stuff.
15 April 2024
We did not do any tourist stuff. We only went to the Miami Makers Faire at the University of Miami to fight our Combat Robots...that kept us busy. We did find a nice Cuban Restaurant and bakery to have a dinner at.
