Would you like to stay in a cosy 2 bedroom house, with a spacious living room and kitchen (all kitchen equipment included)? Do you want to have a pation and a garden full of flowers, herbs and a grill at your disposal? Then this is the place to go. We were welcomed by a very friendly hostess, Angela. She had a bowl of fruit for us at our arrival, and then we twice received fresh fruit during our stay. Generally the communication was very good. Angela was nice and always willing to help. The lake is within walking distance. The area is quiet. Il Vecchio Torchio absolutely deserves 10 out of 10.

Great location with views directly of the lake. My kids did not want to leave.  we left the windows open at night to hear the lapping of the lake. The road noise was minimal overnight. The owner provided excellent directions and videos to help us find the property.

Absolutely loved the location, the view was amazing and it was located in a nice and quiet residential area. The TV was Netflix enabled which was nice, which we didn’t have in other places we stayed at. Beth was so nice and helpful, she picked us up at the train station and offered to take us back at the end of our stay as well which was much appreciated. She gave us great tips and informations for the area on places to visit and restaurants as well.

Our stay was fantastic (couple with dog). The property is fully equipped and very clean. In addition, you have complete privacy, the garden is very well fenced, which is nice if you have a dog and a great view over the lake, breathtaking. The manager of the house was very friendly and helpful. We will absolutely come back again.

It is the perfect geographic location for a hotel, you are 8 min walk away from train station, 10 min from ferry which will take you to all villages and everything is accessible. The staff is really nice, peaceful, beautiful location with all necessary amenities. The breakfast is also really nice. Really happy with the stay.

Taxis in Varenna were not easy to find on one occasion but we found a lovely taxi driver Rita who was totally reliable after that. Despite the transport issues we were glad to stay in such a lovely village with its views over the lake. Everything was great - location with fantastic view, fresh air, delicious breakfast and hospitality, landlady was very nice. The place is quiet and located close to Varenna from where you can get to Bellagio/Mennagio and famous villas via boat. Place is very atmospheric, there is a table outside where you can spend evenings enjoying the view. Very comfortable big bed, everything you need is in a room (for example hair dryer).
