Francesca's apartment is stylish, comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly located in the old section of Portovenere. It comes with a private parking space, a real rarity in this town, about a ten minute walk from the apartment. Francesca herself was a delightful and considerate host. She helped us with restaurant reservations and drove us back to our car with our luggage upon departure. Portovenere itself is well worth a visit as a less-crowded alternative to the Cinque Terre towns, which you can get to by ferry, just around the corner from the apartment, or via the hiking trails that start in the piazza a minute away. Not a criticism, but like probably all the homes in the old streets of Portovenere, the apartment is fairly narrow and is on two floors, with a somewhat steep staircase in between. Just something to be aware of.

While the rest of the beach going community was either sitting in traffic or struggling to find parking , we would wake up every morning and take our 30 second stroll straight to the beach . Beautiful and well equipped house with an amazing view. The very friendly and helpful hosts provided everything you need and more for an unforgettable stay in Porto Venere. Ingredients for Italian breakfast, namely excellent espresso, milk, juice and pastry, were a very nice surprise prepared by the hosts. The double bed is large and comfortable. The garden and two terraces made the house a true oasis on the hill top of Porto Venere.

I will never forget this completely unique villa. The view over Portovenere is gorgeous. We walked down into the village to get fresh pastries for breakfast every morning and back up to the villa to eat them in the stunning gardens. The town is lovely. Paola is a wonderful host. If you get the chance to stay here, leap at it!

An easy bus ride to La Spezia for trains to all the beautiful villages of the cinque terre where we enjoyed a great walk between villages. It's easy to get the train back to the airport. We enjoyed the restaurant and the great service from the friendly hotel staff.

They translated websites so that we could find the proper trains and check in for our flight back home.

He offered invaluable advice for travel around cinque terre and Portovenerre. The villa was more than we could have expected, with easy access to the water and a private parking spot, which in Porto Venerre is very difficult to find.
