The (8) Private Onsen's themselves are an absolute delight and I recommend maximising your available time to sample as many of them as you can, the outside ones especially. A special mention goes to their shuttle bus service which will take you right to the door of any restaurant in town (my advice is follow their recommended venues) and pick up you again as soon as you call.

Felt luxurious and special! The rooftop bar was spectacular at night. Staff were warm and welcoming. We initially booked 2 nights here, but after the first night, we decided to book in for a 3rd! We had an executive room and had access to the executive lounge with free drinks and food at certain times. It was amazing value! 100% recommend staying here in an executive room :)

It was helpful that the staff asked what we wanted for breakfast when we checked in, and that we could order parfaits with our smartphones using QR code. In the lobby were bottles of luxurious shampoo, conditioner, skin and hair care liquids, and soap, for us to borrow. We liked watching the Abema TV channel.

We stayed in a private room with a bunk bed. The bed was so comfy. The staff was friendly. It has a kitchen area and in the morning they provide bread and butter for free. They have a good system established which suits well for a hostel. We can also keep our baggages before and after we checkout in their storage area.

For us this did not matter. It gave it charm after many characterless modern hotels we stayed in while in Japan. It was clean and comfortable. Most importantly, the room was large, we had space both sides of the bed, bedside cabinets, plenty of room to move around and a large wardrobe, luxury for the price paid. The breakfast was very good and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Would highly recommend.

The onsen bath was atmospheric and the temperature felt just right (not too hot even for inexperienced bathers). The staff was wonderfully welcoming, the room lovely and the futon beds extra comfortable. The Arima onsen village was bigger than we expected, several dinner options (we opted for only breakfast (was superb!) at the Tocen Goshobo).
