Hosts met us personally providing the keys, some fruits and local goods and wine. There's a parking place (carport). The view from the bedroom is fantastic.

Chalet Tropical, villa in Arco da Calheta

Comprising a private beach area and a garden, Chalet Tropical is a recently renovated accommodation in Arco da Calheta situated close to Caminho Faja do Mar Beach. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The holiday home has a solarium and bicycle parking.

Me and my boyfriend spent a total of 6 days in the Tropical Chalet. We could have stayed there for at least another month. The place's absolutely lovely. Basically it's straight among banana trees and other beautiful tropical plants and flowers. There're very few other houses in the neighborhood and the closest main street's very quiet making the whole area very peaceful. The backyard has a great view over the ocean and the surrounding banana trees. Also, the hammock's a nice touch to the whole experience. The balcony on the first floor's anotheru lovely space and the house itself is functional though not particularly luxurious or equipped. The only thing tricky is maybe the fact that the street to get to the house's very steep and narrow (some taxis refuse to drive down there). The suggestion is to get a car or even better a motorbike. By foot it's nice to walk down to the beach or through the levadas that go along the coastline. Though mind that it's a very long and steep way to get to the nearest supermarket, bar or shop. This is another reason why having a car/motorbike is highly advisable. Overall, a very nice and recommended accommodation for ocean-loving couples/singles seeking a place to enjoy nature and tranquility.

Property exactly as seen in images, extremely modern and lovely host. Very clean! Comes with washing up liquid, washing machine tablets, dish washer tablets, cupboards filled with towels, hoover, dust pan and brush etc. I love how organised the host is! Also had a high chair and cot provided I loved that they have a little cafe 2 seconds away. Good is you need a quick drink or water Loved thqt host provided us with a cab driver we could trust, especially when travelling with an infant I would recommend having a car if with children or family as there is no pavement and supermarket is a 9 minute drive away. Baby lizards in house which didnt bother us but I assume in summer more would be attracted so bare that in mind

    It was the best accommodation we ever had. Everything was perfect. Spotless, brand new, attention to every detail, excellent interior design. The pictures on booking are nice but in reality it looks even better. The view is amazing, you can watch the wonderful sunsets from each room. It is truly a luxurious villa. The host is wonderful, she made our stay an unforgettable one.

    The villa is pure luxury, everything you could possible want for a relaxing holiday. Every possible way has been made to ensure fantastic views of the sea and wonderful laid out gardens are there for all. Steffi and Alex are fabulous hosts constantly working to keep the complex clean and looking its best. The bonus was a lovely bottle of bubbly on our arrival which set the tone for what was a beautifull time at Quinta Golfinto.

    Great location and well planned out villa. Really comfortable and luxurious, was bigger and nicer than we expected from photos on booking. Especially cool kitchen and master bedroom - for 5 of us it was so large that we can play hide and seek in there... Owner was always in touch and was very helpfull and kind for us - best regards Oleg, if we ever come back to Madeira we will defineatly book Abrigo The Madeira again.

    Wonderful location on the cliff overlooking the ocean, the mansion - luxuriously furnished, cosy garden with exotic plants, and atmosphere provided by hosts Steffi and Alex - really unique!

    Hotel staff associated with the villas were very helpful. The villa was comfortable and contained all the essentials. Having a heated pool was great when it was cooler or raining!
