“Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Evening waitress very helpful, even fetched a map to show us places to visit. Fairly close to airport, but this did not create a nuisance. Bus stop outside hotel or within 10 minute walk to main road another bus stop giving access to buses visiting many parts of the island.”
“The property is located in st Martin, 10mins bus/car or 30 mins walk (up hill) from the ferry port/St Peter. It is in a residential area, so it is very quiet, but in 5 mins walk there is a pub (we haven’t tried it though) and in 15 mins walk you can find some take always and a supermarket. Breakfast is good and dinner is available upon request (to be made in the morning).the host is very kind, efficient and reserved, leaving the guests their privacy. The overall place sends you back in time, with old fashion English decor and a little bar with a nice lounge for pre-dinner drinks. There is also a swimming pool that is definitely an extra perk-we haven’t had the chance to use it as we were mostly outside exploring.”
“Tucked away up a hill surrounded by green space and beautiful buildings, The Duke of Richmond hotel was 10 minutes away from the seafront. Spotlessly clean and polished throughout with informative and friendly staff at the ready to deal with requests - nothing was too much trouble. My room was comfortable with plenty of storage space for luggage - quite the boudoir style - softly padded and upholstered wall treatments with burgundy cricket stripe matched to perfection with the Roman blinds and drapes. I was particularly impressed with the huge collection of original and printed artwork - both in the room and communal areas, restaurant etc. Everything was delightfully elegant, quirky, tongue-in-cheek or all three. A relaxing and fun hotel. The cooked breakfasts were delicious and served with friendly humour.
We took a trip around the countryside with #REALguernsey and a ferry hop over to Herm. Will definitely return.”
