It was very remote, about an hour from Tromsø, and far from any businesses. Take your own groceries, especially coffee. The apartment was very nice and clean. The bedrooms were more spacious than other places we'd stayed in Norway with a nice bathroom and good sized living room. The best part was the large balcony. Also, the sauna was extremely nice despite how warm it was outside and proved especially comfy after a good hike. And of course Espen was the best host!!

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. Fantastic location and we were lucky enough to have spectacular views of aurora borealis. We stayed in a lodge; this was a good size, really comfortable and it was nice to put a log fire on. Breakfast and meals were served in the main building... slippers provided. Staff were helpful and friendly, doing some extra 'gritting' on the path to make it easier to get luggage to the lodge.

Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Holmen Husky was the highlight of our month long trip. From sleeping in lavu to the food to the wonderful dogs that wait for you to walk past and rub their tummies. The staff are exceptional with a special shout out to Tess who fit us in for the amazing husky sledding and Wico for his amazing food. I cannot recommend this place enough. We even watched the Aurora from our bed! A great place for kids too....

10 km from Alta City and 500 metres from Alta River lies Trasti & Trine Boutique Hotel. Surrounded by forest, the location offers good hiking, skiing and biking trails straight from the cottage door. There is both free WiFi and free on-site parking. I would rate this accommodation as one of the best I've experienced; really nice cabins, in the middle of the Norwegian arctic forest! We got a cabin with two stories. Bottom floor was a bed room, with great beds, with a glass wall towards the forest. It was like sleeping in the woods, among the trees. There was also a functional bathroom and shower. The top floor was a kind of small lounge, with another big window, stretching up to the ceiling. Had it been winter we would have seen the stars or the aurora light, but in the summer one could look up to the bright sky! We slept like a king and queen! Then there was a restaurant, serving superfood. We had a three course meal that was really top quality, with good wine to it. Do I need to tell you that the breakfast was good. This was a perfect place to stay on the way between the eastern part of arctic Norway and the western shores!
