Landshut is a lovely Bavarian town on the banks of the Isar River. It has a lovely main street with many options for shopping and dining to meet all your desires. The Isar offers lovely walks along the riverside with beautiful views and nature sightings including the beavers that are settling in.

Lovely and romantic little town, easily travelled from...
Lovely and romantic little town, easily travelled from Munich by train. Not much to do once you visited the castle and a couple of museums, but then again, the charm of this place resides in the atmosphere of it's streets, cafés and terrasses of the old town. We spent only two full days there and every single person we met was extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend, however, to brush up on your German language before you go as, aside from the staple restaurants and hotel, not too many people spoke English... Fabulous historic town; very friendly and helpful locals, who are very proud of their history. The fortress is a must; it only takes about 20 minutes to walk up to from the city centre. Great food, both in pubs and fine dining restaurants. Generous portions. Great cake shops. Great shopping.
