A beautiful house with great facilities. We were meet by the host who was rightly proud to show us around the spotless accommodation. The breakfast provisions were excellent and we slept well in a very comfy bed.

Typical hilltop village in Extramadura. We stayed only one night as we travelled the length of Spain. Facilities were thoughtfully provided unlike the last hotel we stopped at. Parking was nearby but we could easily offload our bags outside the house
We would recommend for anyone exploring Extramadura.

Excellent traditional Posada. Family-run. Room was very clean and in spite of cold weather (December), the heater worked very well. Plenty of blankets, comfortable bed. Great shower. The traditional food was excellent, local and the portions were huge, including the breakfast. Friendly reception. Perfect location for visiting Monfragüe, and the village is interesting to wander through. Free parking next to the Posada.
Hotel Carvajal is located in Torrejón el Rubio, just outside Extremadura’s Monfragüe National Park. Owned by farmers, the hotel’s restaurant serves home-reared meat and home-grown vegetables.
Located almost in the center of a small village. Clean and efficient with AC, Wifi and TV. Good Spanish breakfast is also available for only 2 Euros pp. The village is small but nice with some shops for essentials. We ate at the Bar de la Piscina as most locals did. Decent food for decent prices.
After that, you can head back to the hotel and have another couple of drinks at the bars close to the hotel. There is actually decent nightlife going on, at least in summer and on the weekend. Nice village with nice people.
