We were delighted with our stay as we received a complimentary upgrade and a welcome drink. The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful and the parking is excellent. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant but did not have breakfast

Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. It was the most beautiful location with outstanding and wonderful service. I ate in the square so cannot comment on the food but the bar service was very good and the rooms outstanding. I cannot thank the reception staff enough for their exemplary service and the great sadness was not meeting Raquel with whom I had communicated by email and who was an Angel with the care she took to make my reservation and stay world class. Also the perfect stop half way down through Spain on anyone’s travels to the south. Well worth the effort of going off piste and ignore the average surrounds of Plasencia the Parador and all that surrounds it is in the old quarter and is stunning.

The bed was very comfortable, the airconditioning worked well (very necessary in Extremadura in mid-summer) and the bathroom was clean and very serviceable. It would have been nice to have an electric coffee machine, but there were many restaurants close by that served coffee and breakfast at very reasonable prices.

We fell in love with this chain of hotels “Hospedería de Extremadura” starting from this one located in Hervás :) Beautiful building (it was a convent and hospital), big room, huge parking, close to town and several trekking routes, helpful staff! Most importantly, super pet-friendly! With a supplement we received a hearty kit for our dog ;)

The location of the hotel is great - walking distance into the wonderful town of Trujillo and with easy access to main roads. The staff are friendly and helpful although very little English spoken. We had two evening meals there which were fine although showing the usual Spanish absence of vegetables (chips with everything). The room was adequate although the bathroom could do with some work.
