Dakota Edinburgh, hotel in Queensferry

Dakota Edinburgh is a modern hotel with an award-winning restaurant located 30 minutes from Edinburgh city and 10 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.

I booked it for my mum and partner as they wanted to visit Queensferry. They thought the hotel was excellent friendly staff and nice large room. I would definitely recommend. The hotel itself also were very helpful with the booking and making sure everything was all okay.

Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around.

Queensferry is a lovely place to walk around. There are lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I had lunch at the Railbridge Bistro and a lovely dinner at the Thirty Knots restaurant. There are nice little shops to browse in. Queensferry is very near Edinburgh and there is an excellent train service into the city from Dalmeny Station.

Great place to base yourself for trips to Edinburgh or Livingston. Our son loved watching the trains cross the forth rail bridge, the aquarium and the ice cream at the little parlour. Breakfast at down the hatch was also delicious.

On this occasion, I did not stay long but it is a very interesting place with easy access to all parts of Scotland thanks to the Forth Bridges. There are small shops as well as supermarkets and lots of lovely places to eat, most with spectacular views while you eat. I think the best thing is just wandering around on foot, without needing a car, and exploring.

We stayed at Orocco Pier in the middle of the High Street which has fantastic views of the Three Bridges over the Forth River. Enjoyed a great meal at Scott’s at Port Edgar Marina. Free parking for customers. Lovely cafes and coffee shops available. Parking can be difficult but we’ve managed each time we’ve visited.

The Dakota Edinburgh is very conveniently located near the international airport. The hotel/airport shuttle was always available. If you have an event at the Dundas Castle, this is the place to stay. It is a short mile from the hotel. Queensferry to Edinburgh is about a 1/2 hour drive.

Location was great - S. Queensferry wonderful in and of itself; perfect base for exploring Edinburgh (bus stop just a few steps away). The loft was perfect for our needs; nice kitchen, very comfy queen-size (or maybe king-size?) bed, well-equipped kitchen. Loved the video provided prior as a "user's manual". Every lodging has different systems (access, heat, etc); really appreciated not having to figure out how things work in the Loft.

We started and ended our Scotland trip at this beautiful modern hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient location with nearby bus and train stations. We were able to use this hotel as a base as we traveled into Edinburgh. The value and convenience of this hotel outside the city was exceptional. The staff was attentive and efficient and the availability of the shuttle to the airport made this place a winner.

We enjoyed our short stay in the centre of Queensferry and well placed for an event we had to attend nearby. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was served in the main bar with a wonderful view of the Forth Rail Bridge. The food was good and plentiful. If required, other bars and restaurants are close to this hotel but you may feel a strong attraction to remain here.

The staff were so helpful, especially since I arrived on the Sunday before the Queen's funeral. Everyone really bent over backward to make my stay more convenient and comfortable, including making a call to book dinner and leaving a breakfast snack out since I left before 8am. I would stay here again when visiting South Queensferry or when going to or from the Edinburgh airport.

Room was enormous, with twin turrets and a view straight out over the Firth of Forth, the iconic Forth Rail Rail bridge and also the hotel gardens. The staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. Ideally located for ferry trips along the Firth and easy access to Edinburgh.

Very nice room on first impression although strange it was first on list for solo travellers when it wasn't part of main hotel and was one of two rooms some distance away from hotel entrance. However it was cosy and bed was comfortable. Staff at check in & check out very friendly and helpful.

The location was central to Edinburgh, Stirling, and the roads that head to the Highlands. The house was extremely well kept, beautiful, impeccably clean, and had all the modern amenities. The instruction binder on-site was thorough and left no questions unanswered.

No breakfast (had to leave at dawn). Fabulous location under the Forth Bridge. Great scenery, lovely town & super easy & convenient to the airport. So much nicer than staying at a grim airport hotel with nowhere to walk or no choice in food or drink.

This is an old property on the main High St of Queensferry and hence there will always be some imperfections when compared to modern hotels. But the room was great, clean and comfy and the service was excellent.
