The Royal George, hotel in Seaton

Situated in Cottingham, 21 km from Kelmarsh Hall, The Royal George features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Pub hotel in quiet village. Entry and reception via the pub. The room was a good size, bright and smart with a window over the courtyard; lots of birdsong. Clean, newly furnished with a comfortable double bed. Clean, crisp white linen and good pillows. Two drawer side table and two bedside chest of drawers with lamps. Tele, tea/coffee making facilities. Comfy chair and mirror. Fair sized en suite shower room and toilet. Shower gel. Plenty of good large fluffy white towels. Shower cubicle large. Everything beautifully clean and shiny. Hairdryer. For the less mobile; the room is up some narrow steep stairs. Downstairs is a nice friendly pub with restaurant attached. Very good food and two Grainstore ales. Breakfast was good with juice, cereals, traditional or vegetarian breakfast, toast & tea or coffee. Free parking. Friendly & helpful staff.

Seaton is a pretty village and the pub and its staff were fantastic! Locals were really friendly too! We ate in the pub during the evening and it was delicious. The full English breakfast was too! The room we stayed in was great for our needs and really good value.

A beautiful characterful village, very rural and with a population of less than 300. The George & Dragon serves excellent food Tuesday to Sunday. The buildings range from 17th century onwards but even the more modern ones are constructed sympathetically in the local ironstone. Because it is rural you need a car to get to local towns but the size of the country means for a fit person cycling is a great option. South East of the village is an impressive viaduct which can be clearly seen from 50 yards away from the Inn and makes a great photo opportunity.

    Beautiful pub, lovely village.

Beautiful pub, lovely village. Food was lovely, and dining room and bar nicely decorated. Bedroom was lovely, but en-suite was very small and cramped, and fan not working. Staff were really friendly, and breakfast was very tasty. We were only passing through, but looked like there was plenty to do in the area.

A beautiful little village with views of the viaduct.

A beautiful little village with views of the viaduct. A great escape, but also a good starting point to visit Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Oakham and Stamford. Stamford is a fantastic architectural gem and well worth a day's visit.

    Seaton is a lovely village.

Seaton is a lovely village. Rather strange way of offering breakfast, i ordered egg and bacon, and asked for a small amount of yoghurt and berries ,without muesli, another choice on the menu, but as that made 2 things I was told I may have to pay extra for it! The room was rather small, no chair, no shelf in the small bathroom.

    Beautiful part of the UK.

Beautiful part of the UK. Would recommend The Pickled Village shop in Bulwick just a few miles away - breakfast / lunch / lovely out door seating area and GREAT cakes. Do not recommend The Castle Inn for take away - awful!
