It felt very homely, like staying with distant relatives who you don't speak the same language as. Everyone was so nice and also the dogs were very funny. Felt very private to be in the cabin on the other end of the property. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. The location was very handy for us. Lisbon airport, is approx 40 min drive away.
The rental property is in the country with fantastic views. The unit was perfect for the both of us, it was clean and had a well equipped kitchen.
They have a small hobby farm, which we both enjoyed. The ponies were our favourite. We found the animals to be so well behaved, not a sound during the night, it was hard to believe that we had animals close by.
Everything you would need ex: grocery, fuel...is just a 10 min drive away in a neighbouring town.

I stayed in the "double room" with bunk beds for one night on my way to Lisbon airport. This is a small room, but it is fine for one adult. The property is in a quiet location and the accommodation is secure, clean, and comfortable. The rooms face onto a small swimming pool in what would otherwise have been a back yard or garden at the rear of the owner's house. Access to a well-equipped kitchen was a definite bonus. Parking in the street was easy.
