We really enjoyed our stay. From the kindness of the our hosts to the cleanliness of our room, from the comfort of our room and bed, to the relaxing atmosphere. The fact that the property has a very big focus on sustainability is also a strong plus, which is taken seriously by the management. The photos and amenities from the post are exactly what you found there.

Pousada Convento de Beja, hotel in Santa Vitória

Situated in a former 13th-century Franciscan convent in the heart of Beja’s historical centre, Pousada Convento de Beja offers charming rooms with original features.

Beautifully restored convent building, peaceful grounds and a large pool. Just right for us having a one night stopover on a cycle trip from Malaga to Lisbon. Friendly staff, great food, for evening meal and a substantial breakfast. Comfy quiet rooms, with good en-suites . Thanks for a lovely stay, and the complimentary glass of Port on arrival was a nice touch 😀

Hotel Bejense, hotel in Santa Vitória

Hotel Bejense is located in the historic center of Beja and is considered an icon of tourist classification.

Lovely small hotel in the middle of Beja, a location which made getting about easy. The breakfasts were excellent - plenty of choice with foods typical to the region. Very, very friendly people (in fact, some of whom are the owners themselves) and all are really helpful. We would stay again without a doubt.

First off, this is an agro-turismo -- by its very name -- so its location right along a reservoir, with fine vistas of grain fields and holm oaks in the distance, should surprise no one. And you get there by driving past long LONG rows of ultra-high-density olive plantings, a recent technology that allows machine harvesting of olives. The main business is clearly agriculture at a near-industrial scale. All fine and well! Much of the site is aimed toward the swimming pool, which was in use when we arrived by throngs of cavorting kids. I don't know if the reservoir is available for swimming, but its waters now are closeby. There is no restaurant now (Spring 2023), although breakfast is offered in the common room and is pretty good (even including scrambled eggs, a welcome addition). Restaurants are not close, and on Sundays (and many Mondays) are closed, so bring food if you are there on those days. The room was acceptable, although the mini-split heating-cooling system was challenged -- and we were there in late April. I can just imagine what mid-July would be like! We enjoyed the stay and the scenery, and the staff (Sandra) was very helpful and spoke quite good English. The room decor -- a large painting showing the flower that gives the room its name -- was nice!

My husband and I enjoyed the rural natural beauty surrounding the facility. The room was clean and spacious. Our only complaint is the dog pen at the entrance of this facility. There were 3 dogs, one big, one small, and one puppy. The pen was filthy with their feces. It seemed that it wasn't cleaned over a week.
