Great stay! Even before we arrived the communication was amazing, we got all the needed information to arrive and for the dinner menu. Location is great to relax, even if you have to drive a while on a gravel road it's in good shape. Staff was super friendly and supportive, always available and joyful.
The room, even if small, had all we needed, was comfortable and had a great view. We also had dinner at the location, amazing home cooked food in a lovely dinner area. Breakfast was also great.
There is plenty to explore around, you can go for a walk, see the animals or just enjoy the pool.

This little cottage in Lavre was a wonderful place for us to call 'home' for a couple of nights, and we could easily have stayed longer. It is very clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay, as well as being nicely decorated with fabrics and artifacts from Mauritania. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other a double. The kitchen is better equipped than most of the places we have stayed, with dish cloths, tablecloth, napkins, cleaning supplies, and basic condiments all provided. They also provide two different coffee makers to cover all bases. An additional surprise was the fresh eggs and bread João and Augusta left for us. Talking to João was an additional pleasure as he was interesting and made us feel very welcome. Heaters and a roaring fireplace kept us warm in the cold evenings, but we enjoyed the sunny verandah during the day. Surrounded by sheep fields, there was always something to watch - especially during lambing season. Our dog was also happy with all the space and new smells. We self-catered, but there is a good restaurant in the town should you want it. A walk to the medieval bridge nearby is also to be recommended.

We really loved the cozy environment of the house, the chill outside area was really unexpected and we loved it, the swimming pool was amazing, we really had a great time in Mendoça house and we cooked most of our food in the amazing grill. One of the annoying things of summer are mosquitos and flies, but the hosts left many citronella things to avoid them, we really like that. The house also has many table games and we enjoyed so much playing it. Location is perfect, supermarkets nearby, town is just 5 mins away by car, the river beach as well and go there is my great suggestion, you don't even need to bring an umbrella because there are many by free, the water is perfect for swim. We had an amazing experiencie there.
