Friendly people, small enough things are rather laid back which is what we wanted. Good hiking trails on the island. Liked Cafe Travessa, Clube Naval, and Praia Formosa restaurants. Drive to village of Sao Laurenzo is very scenic.S KennethUnited States

The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. Hated to leave and go to next location with a hotel Santa Maria Island is a nice relaxing break from the crowds that other islands have.
