Casa de Chouselas is snug at the heart of a valley that has a special climate and mood- perfect for a quick getaway close to main roads, supermarkets, restaurants and coffee shops.
The breakfast, which was included in our stay, was basic including all the essential points, but nevertheless featuring a home made, heirloom recipe styled cake made from olive oil and oranges, a very typical fruit from this area.
The house is beautifully refurbished from an old type of granary, carefully decorated with timeless, vintage pieces, handpicked by Dª Olivia and her family.
Dª Olivia, is the definition of a matriarc and a true force of nature. She was very welcoming and a great story teller, patiently answering all our questions about the house and the region which she knows well, being an important member of the community.
We deeply recommend Casa de Chouselas.

Lovely quiet comfortable house in the middle of nowhere. Kitchen was adequately stocked so we were able to cook. Lovely to have a wood burner especially as so cold and wet outside.
Situated in the thermal village of Caldelas, this hotel features a spacious restaurant serving local cuisine from the Minho region. All rooms are modern and come with a private balcony or patio.

The worst breakfast ever, for a hotel that rightly prides itself on the lunch (they have a famous chef) they could well prepare a better breakfast.

Not many good restaurants nearby and almost no shop (we were driving to Amares about 20 minutes for shopping). But it's very calm and relaxing to stay in Vilela, especially in Quinta Do Rocha. You could walk around but it's definitely best to drive around.
Breakfast was amazing, owner made us feel at home, greeting with local wine on arrival. Unexpectedly great hotel and location. I really enjoyed our stay
