There is no shower, but they give you towels to use in public baths (and there are tons of them around). Speaking of which, the location is amazing, it's in the coolest area of Beppu where steam is coming out of the ground on the streets. There is a big popular onsen in 5 minute walk and smaller ones just around the corner. The owner was very nice and told me about the best onsens and sightseeing spots in the area.

The hosts were kind and there is a sento/onsen just in front of the house, where the hosts advise us to go at our arrival and it was very relaxing. The house is situated at about 15-20 min walk from the Beppu station, along the river in a very nice neighborhood.

The place is charming, with a classic atmosphere in this old but cozy and nice building. The onsen is very good (you can make a reservation for a private experience) and the owner is a lovely Japanese lady. The location is also great, just a couple of blocks from the station and very close to the sea. We recommend this place!
