Located at the picturesque boulevard of the Otaru Canal, Hotel Nord offers comfortable accommodation and panoramic mountain views. The hotel features a restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property.

The location is amazing - we have the perfect view of the canal from our windows! Staff were also really friendly and kind. As our rented vehicle was a mini bus, we were unable to get into the sheltered parking. They allowed us to park right at the enterance of the hotel lobby area which was super convenient! The room was huge with all the amenities required! Really love the big bathroom as well.

Loved that the original designs of the building were retained. Overall very pleasant stay. Staff were very accommodating in allowing us to put our ski gear in their luggage room.

My standard twin room was upgraded (according to the receptionist), and it was really spacious with a great interior like a fridge in a wine barrel. The hotel overall looks great with modern design and is very clean.

A very cool room, designed in a Japanese style! The room is clean and tidy, with a comfortable chair to sit in after walks around Otaru. In the morning, we were treated to a buffet breakfast. The breakfast is very rich and diverse for such a price. The owner is very polite and willingly answered questions about the city and accommodation. The hotel itself has a smoking room, an onsen bath (and a shower in the room).

It’s not my first time visiting Otaru, but Stone and Iron made me wanna visit Otaru again! I was already very excited when I booked this historical stone house. It is more amazing than what I expected! The owner Hiro is a super nice host and excellent chef. We enjoyed so much having our dinner in his lovely stone house. Food is fantastic! We had a good sleep as it’s so quiet. The stone house looks stunning in the snow!

The building in itself is amazing. And the decoration is lovely. The dorms are cleverly designed so it doesn't feel cramped and you get a sense of privacy. You get a towel (which is rare in Japan) & free earbuds. Duvet is thick, so that must be great in winter)
