Each room at the B&B features a TV with satellite channels and DVD player, a wardrobe and parquet floor. There is also tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with power shower and hairdryer. What a find this was- so lovingly presented with quality furnishings and comfort- very generous breakfast spread and in a perfect location- what’s not to like?😁

Around 5 minutes’ walk from Oban town centre, it provides free parking and WiFi and has a guests’ lounge overlooking the bay. Lovely host, superb spot: quiet street and yet less than 5 minutes walk (steep footpath) to city center. Nice view over the harbour and a private parking place. Although 'only' a continental breakfast was supplied, it was exceptionally extensive and plentiful! On top of the usual toast/jam/cereals there were lots of fresh raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, four types of sliced meat and slices of cheese, different pastries and bars-to-go, etc. When we had to leave very early, the host prepared the evening before a basket so we could have breakfast anyway.

This 4-star Victorian guest house has free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. We stayed 2 nights here at the Hawthornbank in Oban and our host Ian was great. The guest house is sparkling clean as are the rooms. And the breakfast in the morning was brilliant too. Parking is available right at the hotel. Highly recommended.
