The views from the breakfast room are so good it was once listed in The Times Top 10 Most Scenic Restaurants. Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms were clean and cozy. Ample parking right behind the hotel and an easy walk to the center of town. Our room also afforded a lovely view of the lake. The front on the hotel has a lovely seating area and garden where my wife and I had an evening drink from the hotel's honesty bar (well-stocked).

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning.

Boat trips on Lake Windermere, which is just 1 mile away, offer uninterrupted views of the stunning mountains, bays and woodlands. Sue & Andre were exceptional hosts & presented accomodation that was very comfortable, providing everything we needed. Central location in easy walking distance to a variety of restaurants, the lake & pier. On-site easy parking was a bonus. Andre helped us with walking options, Elterwater & the Langdale valley were a photographers dream. Thanks so much for adding to my memorable holiday with my daughter.

The hotel has some of the best on-site facilities in the area, half of the rooms with hot tubs on private balconies, an on-site spa with poolside seating and a bar, stylish restaurant and cocktail bar, bike hire, wakesurfing and paddleboading. The facility and the people were exceptional. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of the trip. Please keep me posited with every new thing in this great resort.

With beautiful views of the Northern Fells, Ravenstone Lodge is 5 miles from Keswick, at the foot of Ullock Pike so you can relax in the conservatory or on the terrace and enjoy some of the best Lake District scenery. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety available. Dinners were faultless, we enjoyed every one. Staff were extremely helpful. It was lovely to be able to walk out of the back door of the hotel and down through the fields, past the sweet lambs, and right down to Bassenthwaite Lake and the little church.

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking.

Suitable for adults only, each room at Jerichos come with flat-screen TVs, en suite bathrooms and iPod docks. Tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. Original Victorian period features adorn the property, which also offers a cosy lounge. What a beautiful place to stay. Large and very well appointed rooms with everything you could need. Very comfortable large bed . Hosts were so lovely and welcoming and a delicious hot breakfast was included. Free parking as well. 2 minutes walk to the main street of the town. Highly recommended!!

The stylish and comfortable rooms at the 4-star Rum Doodle feature luxurious vintage furniture and original artwork. Benefits also include an en suite bathroom, designer toiletries, and a hospitality tray with fresh coffee milk, teas, and biscuits. The place is very quaint and I loved how each room is themed differently on explorers and nature. Also, loved the fact that we were welcomed to some warm mulled wine( it was freezing outside) Also, the breakfast is amazing !

Situated in Levens, 18 km from World of Beatrix Potter, The Hare and Hounds, Levens features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 32 km of Trough of Bowland. The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Kendal Castle. Only problem was we didn't have long enough here so are going to have to re visit. Stayed here but wedding at villa Leven's. Rooms/staff/Breakfast first classing. Nothing not to like thanks
