Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London,...
Barking, although recognised as a deprived area of London, is a pleasant working class suburb of London. The streets were clean and during the day I was happy to see that the shops were all used and open for trade. The people were approachable and friendly (although as in most places there are bound to be others that are not). I went to a local cafe and had something to eat and drink, it was surprisingly cheap and good quality. As it was New Years eve, I had to return to the area in the early hours of the morning, however, felt safe doing so, (again just be aware of the surroundings and stay alert, but this would be the same in any area). Overall, I found Barking a lovely down to earth area.

For a 2 star hotel it rated well....staff were able to provide a fan as the room was not sufficiently cool enough for sleeping
Staff were friendly and cooperative...drawback location being some distance from Barking railway station...at least 15/20 minutes walk

The room was boiling hot. there wasn't any AC available. no spare pillows and bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. shower facility was very poor. the room was very small. They call it hotel but most of the customers looked like council use this place as refuge accommodate those people. very poor quality for the money. Totally waste of money and Saturday night.
Terrible area. Terrible hotel. Terrible everything there. Even thought you might be low on budget, do NOT stay at the bank hotel in barking if you care for your health. The place should close and be sanitized. All the furnitures, beds etc should be burned. I am NOT exaggerating.

The child bunk bed was very hard and uncomfortable and it was not made on arrival so we had to put sheets on ourselves bathroom had no lock and my 3 year old can easily open the door if i was using the toilet or shower! Keycards did not work and caused us a lot of frustration and really made our whole experience at the hotel very disappointing would not stay here again wasnt cheap to book this place either at £80 is definitely not a budget hotel the family room was very small for the price

Didn’t feel safe in Barking but we went to a Turkish restaurant around the corner from the dreams hotel and it was absolutely stunning really recommend that place if I could only remember the name of it lol
The hotel was good and clean, and the staff was very friendly, especially Sony was quite helpful. I was there to study for my exam, so they even offered me a quiet room.
For those who want to take the PLAB 2 exam and are enrolled at Common Stations, the hotel is a great place to stay at. It's only 10-15 minutes away from the academy.
At £15.00 per night for parking, this is extortionate. Sadly there was no where else to park. Worst of all was the fact that at the outset when booking, there was no mention that parking would cost £15 per night. Other hotels in the area charge £5, with IBIS being the most expensive at £7.00.
Just a rip off!
It is a nice little hotel in a market town which mean there are plenty of choices food wise nearby, even late at night. It is about 6 minutes walk away from Barking Station where you can get most tube lines and if your attending an event at Spurs Stadium it is pretty easy to get to.
Highly recommended! Flat in very good condition, two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms plus living room. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Close to the Barking metro station. Very nice owner, explained everything to us. When we are in London again we will also use it. Regards!
Nice room, nice space. Had a private bathroom, not the cleanest but a good size with a good shower. We didn't expect too much as it was a cheap hotel, however some of the conditions were questionable even at price. Had a smart TV...
.Better than expected for the price, location is OK, a bit sus in the evening but it's close to the Barking station. Comfortable bed for the price, big bathroom.
Bed very comfortable and cheaper than other hotels we looked at.. however we still found it quite expensive but we did book last minute so this may be why
I stayed just the night but I felt comfortable being there when I entered the room. I know barking quite well so the local shops are just down the road.
