“Room and hotel was much better than expected after reading poor reviews. Single room was small but clean. Bathroom good. A posted note let you know to let water run a while and wait for hot water but in morning when people had the hot water started from showers the water was warm already. Great value. I had a backpack and bag and it was fine. Free breakfast was adequate. I worried after reading some reviews but now that I have stayed there I would stay again. There were lights in the halls, you just had to turn them on as needed. Switch by each room in hall. Elevator was a huge plus! Some larger rooms had the door open after people had left and they looked very nice. I believe they had been renovated. It is not the Ritz but it is clean and in the center of town. So convenient. Easy access to the steps that lead to the castle. I was pleased and I am not fancy but particular. About 8 minute walk from the train station.”

Bacharach is a lovely area and it's very close to walks/hikes and Burg Stahleck. Good supermarket about 10-15 minutes away in Oberwesel (REWE) open from 07:00 - 22:00 Monday - Saturday. The Rhine Valley in general is really scenic and a bit of a hidden gem. Great beers, great wines, the cycling is phenomenal, 40 miles between Koblenz and Bingen almost completely traffic free with great surfaces and great scenery.”

“Lovely room in Bacharach. The Hotel Pension Winzerhaus was closer to the city centre than expected. It is a short walk up a small hill, with the most beautiful view. Therefore, it is definitely worth the walk. The neighbourhood is quiet. The owners are very friendly and even provided me with some sightseeing tips and a map. When I arrived, they were also there to welcome me and check me in. The room is extremely clean and spacious with a shower and a water basin. Although the toilet was separate, it did not bother me at all. The wifi was excellent.”
