The furnishing was mostly IKEA but in chosen in good taste and the sheets were in good condition and comfortable. High ceiling makes the room feel far more spacious and airy than it actually is. The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated too. But the best thing about this hotel was the view that gives you a clear outline of Alps over the Bordensee in the early morning and a perfect sunset in the evening, so be sure to get a lake view room if you can. Also, we were just planning to go to Constance but just beyond the hotel is the very charming town of Meersburg that overlooks the lake and takes about two hours max to look around so that was a pleasant surprise.”

The room we had on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the lake was spotless although showing signs of its age and only an average size for a hotel, I would have expected it to be a little more sumptuous for the price but it's the view your really paying for I suppose. “This was a guesthouse without a 24 hour desk. Keys are accessed a five minute walk away at Hotel Shiff. This is not a concern as it's convenient to pull the car to the side upon arrival into town, walk in to check in, obtain keys and directions for parking at the guest house, etc. Extensive breakfast buffet is included and five minute walk at the sunny breakfast room at Hotel Shiff. The guest house sleeping room itself is styled in a medieval motif (We had room #207-view overlooks the hillside in back and the parking garage under construction). Remodeled, with bathroom extremely new and well designed for such a small space. Reserving a room with a view on the other side of the building overlooking the main street might be fun. Beautiful location: steps from the waterfront promenade, shops, restaurants, and Lake Konstanz ferry boats. The through street in lower Meersburg town, where the guest house is located, is not pedestrian only but the whole town is off the main road so for what traffic that does come through the lower town is so limited. Actually the foot and bicycle traffic is more noticeable. I would return to Meersburg. Beautiful, quiet experience.”
