“Helen and her aunt Pauline and uncle Peter are splendid hosts. Informative, exceptionally welcoming and inclusive and yet also ready to give as much private time and space as we chose. The views are astounding, the mountains imposing and inspiring. The village of Competa is clearly benefitting from a good deal of civic pride: meticulous clean, still an authentically thriving local community and full of history. The museum is charming and interesting, the food in the 24 bars and restaurants is good and served in most generous quantities.”

“The standout was the hospitality of the new owner. I arrived soaking wet after a long walk and the owner was very helpful in making sure I was able to dry my clothes and boots. The bedroom was a good size and we'll equipped. Breakfast was at a time to suit and included fresh fruit and yoghurt followed by fried eggs, mushrooms and avocado. With the excellent breakfast included it was great value. As I don't speak Spanish it was very useful to have an English speaking host.”

“First, this is probably the best B&B we ever stayed at. Location is amazing, right in the hills, overlooking the the town of Competa, an andalusian village in the Sierra Almijara, about 30 km north or Nerja and 40 km west of the Sierra Nevada. The view is simply amazing!!! Getting there by car is a bit tricky (don't trust your GPS) but is part of the adventure and oh so worth it. It is easy to walk down to the village (about 10-15 minutes). Nearby is a wildlife reserve with plenty of hiking trails to explore, and stunning views including the mediterranean. The place itself is splendid and very comfortable with lots of amenities including a large swimming pool with a sheltered bar nearby. Nights are very quiet. The hosts Bente and Carsten make you feel instantly at home, and are eager to help you with anything to help you enjoy your stay and discover the area. Delicious multi-course breakfast with home-made bread. We only stayed 2 days and would have gladly spent more time there. This is a place we would readily go to again and probably will.”

“The mother of Ana was waiting for us with the key. The apartment has a fantastic view from the balcony. It is just a 5 minute drive from Competa. A very good bed, a nice kitchen. TV and Airco. Great living room with a comfortable couch and nice chairs and tables to eat. But most of the time you will eat outside on the great balcony, with views of the mountains and the sea. Washing machine and a nice shower. Actually a great place to stay. Contact with Ana is very easy (WhatsApp). To drive to the location do NOT go offroad :-) We did and went wrong....it is easy to find.”

“Fantasic couple , Nicole and Kris both made us feel very welcome throughout our stay , we felt like we knew them for years and we even had a few drinks with them on the last night before returning home the next day. They showed us around the apartment and told us how everything worked , they even gave us information on how to get to places. The apartment was very clean and comfortable . the wifi was great, the televison was amazing with so many different stations in different languages , which also included hundreds of movies. The views from the apartment were beautiful with so many restaurants nearby that served lovely meals , and a big choice of Spanish tapas. We would highly recommend the apartment and the couple for a fantastic break away , we only wish we stayed longer. Keep up the good work Nicole and Kris , and Thank you both for your hospitality , we both enjoyed your company and our stay :)”

“We know the village very well and this house is in a great position within the village, being opposite the hotel and a short walk to the main plaza. It's a lovely modern property - and felt very luxurious. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The kitchen has new equipment - oven, fridge and microwave etc and the bathroom has a great shower!
