“Location This house is the highest in Taganana, overlooking the valley of this charming village in the east, the sea in the north, and the green mountain range to the west. The whole northern area is a national park with untouched nature and friendly locals - far away from the mass tourism you ay know from the south. It may not be ideal to place to explore all of the island, but certainly to stay, disconnect and recharge. Getting around Right behind the house begins a steep path down to the village with the grocery store at its very end, loaded with local produce. Continue further to the beach (+30 minutes) or "Casa Picar"(+5 minutes) with traditional Canarian cusine. You may also start hiking into the mountains to the west. Getting there Transfer by Taxi is about 40€ from TFN airport. If driving yourself be prepared to take several hairpin turns high up in the mountains with stunning views at clear weather. Some of the mountain tops are most of the time within the clouds. Weather Expect a few degrees less than in the valley. Depending on the cloud ceiling, this area may be hit by a cloud prompting a short fog and/or rain for few minutes. Always have proper foot wear and rain gear if hiking in the mountains. It did get pretty stormy while i was staying there in April. Equipment This place had everything I needed and even more. Expect a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove. Also there is a BBQ Grill that worked well. Please do not expect that the fire wood or charcoal is provided as other guests may have used it already. But you can get it at any gas station. Also, please do not start a fire if the wind is too strong as it may push the smoke back into the chimney, causing the house to be filled with smoke. Also there is a small fire place, that I have not tried. There is a variety of stove top Espresso makers that worked well. For tea drinkers - there is a kettle provided. You will also find a big fridge, pantry and all thinkable cooking wear.”
